About the Role Sunfox Technologies
Sunfox Technologies is a medical technology company focused on building accessible, reliable, and clinically relevant healthcare devices. Our work is centered on developing next-generation diagnostic and monitoring solutions that combine strong engineering with real-world healthcare impact. At Sunfox, engineering is directly linked to patient care, product quality, and scalable medical innovation.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable and driven Senior Electronics Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role is focused on the design and development of advanced electronic hardware and multilayer PCBs for medical devices. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in circuit design, board bring-up, debugging, compliance-oriented development, and production support.
This position will play an important role in taking products from concept through prototyping, validation, and manufacturing. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced product development environment and should be able to contribute both technically and strategically to the development of reliable and compliant MedTech products.
Key Responsibilities
PCB Design and Development
- Design complex multilayer PCBs for medical device applications using professional EDA tools such as Altium Designer, Autodesk Eagle, Allegro, or equivalent.
- Develop PCB layouts with strong consideration for signal integrity, power integrity, grounding strategy, thermal performance, and EMI/EMC robustness.
- Optimize board layouts for manufacturability, serviceability, and long-term field reliability.
- Define PCB stack-ups, routing rules, and placement strategy based on product requirements.
- Work closely with the mechanical design team to ensure enclosure compatibility, connector fitment, cable routing, and overall form-factor alignment.
Circuit Design and Prototyping
- Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for diagnostic and monitoring devices.
- Create detailed schematics for subsystems involving power management, signal acquisition, communication, sensors, and controller integration.
- Perform circuit simulations using SPICE or equivalent tools to validate performance before fabrication.
- Support prototype build, bring-up, and functional testing in the lab.
- Evaluate design trade-offs related to cost, reliability, compliance, and performance.
Compliance and Quality
- Ensure hardware designs are developed in alignment with applicable standards such as IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, and relevant quality practices followed in medical device development.
- Participate in DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) reviews.
- Support verification, validation, and pre-compliance testing activities.
- Maintain engineering discipline in version control, documentation, and design traceability to support regulatory and quality audits.
Testing, Debugging, and Production Support
- Perform board-level and component-level debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, and other lab equipment.
- Diagnose issues related to signal acquisition, power supply behavior, communication interfaces, noise, thermal stability, and layout defects.
- Work with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal teams during pilot builds and production runs to resolve hardware issues.
- Support failure analysis and corrective actions during development and production stages.
Documentation and Engineering Records
- Prepare and maintain complete hardware documentation including:
- Schematics
- PCB design files
- BOMs
- Assembly drawings
- Stack-up details
- Test reports
- Design review records
- Maintain structured revision history and engineering change records.
- Support documentation required for regulatory submissions, audits, and internal quality systems.
About the Role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–6 years of relevant experience in electronics hardware design and PCB development.
- Strong practical experience in designing and releasing multilayer PCBs for manufactured products.
- Good understanding of analog and digital electronics, embedded hardware, power systems, and signal routing.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer, Eagle, Allegro, or similar PCB design tools.
- Experience in PCB debugging, validation, and production issue resolution.
- Working knowledge of EMI/EMC mitigation techniques, grounding strategies, and board-level reliability design.
- Familiarity with medical device or other regulated product development environments is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on medical devices, biomedical instrumentation, ECG/EEG systems, patient monitoring devices, or similar products.
- Familiarity with IEC 60601, ISO 13485 environment, and hardware documentation practices for regulated industries.
- Hands-on experience with fine-pitch soldering, rework, and prototype assembly support.
- Exposure to sensor integration, low-noise signal acquisition, and high-reliability electronics design.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in cross-functional teams.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to work on impactful healthcare technologies that directly contribute to patient care.
- Strong exposure to end-to-end product development in a growing MedTech environment.
- Competitive compensation with clear growth opportunities.
- Collaborative engineering culture with room for innovation and ownership.
- A chance to build meaningful products in one of India’s emerging health-tech ecosystems.
