About the Role – Senior Revenue Accountant
In this role, you will be a key individual contributor within our global revenue operations and accounting team in Bangalore, supporting Xactly’s end-to-end Order-to-Cash lifecycle and technical revenue accounting. Based in Bangalore, India, and reporting directly to our Revenue Accounting Manager in Bangalore, you will take ownership of daily revenue recognition workflows, contract reviews, and month-end close schedules under US GAAP (ASC 606). As Xactly continues to evolve its pricing models and go-to-market strategies, you will bring critical analytical thinking to ensure data integrity, support strategic revenue initiatives, and collaborate cross-functionally with US and global finance teams.
What You’ll Do
Execute ASC 606 Revenue Recognition Workflows: Perform technical SaaS revenue accounting, review complex customer contracts, generate monthly revenue schedules, and ensure strict compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606 standards.
Drive Month-End Revenue Close: Prepare monthly revenue journal entries, deferred revenue reconciliations, unbilled AR schedules, and balance sheet variance analyses to ensure a timely and accurate month-end close.
Support Evolving Pricing Models & Projects: Play an active hands-on role in executing critical revenue initiatives and adapting accounting schedules to support evolving pricing models and billing structures.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with RevOps, Billing/AR, Professional Services, and US finance team members to clarify contract terms, resolve revenue discrepancies, and maintain end-to-end process integrity.
Audit Support & Process Enhancement: Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external audits and contribute to ongoing initiatives that optimize, automate, and scale revenue accounting processes.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Skills
5–8 years of core revenue accounting experience, specifically focused on US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards within the SaaS or enterprise software sector.
Hands-on experience reviewing customer contracts, preparing deferred revenue reconciliations, and executing month-end revenue close procedures.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and detail-oriented problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex revenue data sets.
Proven ability to adapt accounting schedules and workflows to support evolving SaaS pricing models, business models, or process enhancements.
Clear, professional communication skills and English fluency with proven ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones.
Good-to-Have Skills
Professional accounting qualification or certification such as US CPA, Chartered Accountant (CA / CA Inter), or ACCA is a plus.
Hands-on experience with enterprise ERP and CRM systems such as Workday ERP, Salesforce, or automated revenue management subledgers.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance (M.Com / MBA Finance).
