Your work profile

We are seeking a Technical Data Product Owner to lead an enterprise-scale digital data product within the BFSI domain. The role requires a blend of product ownership, stakeholder management, data expertise, and engineering fundamentals to drive business outcomes through data. The individual will own product priorities, translate business needs into actionable requirements, and work closely with business, engineering, architecture, governance, and analytics teams to ensure successful delivery. A strong understanding of data platforms, SQL, APIs, integration patterns, and enterprise data architecture is essential to effectively bridge business objectives with technical execution.

Job Description:

Own product delivery for the Enterprise data product, with clear accountability for scope, priorities, and business outcomes

Work closely with business, technology, and downstream stakeholders to align requirements and drive execution

Exhibit strong stakeholder management skills, with ability to manage expectations, resolve ambiguity, and bring teams to closure on priorities

Translate business needs into well-structured, actionable requirements and ensure effective prioritization based on value, risk, and dependency

Demonstrate strong data understanding and analytical capability, with hands-on proficiency in SQL and data analysis

Apply structured problem-solving and critical thinking to break down complex issues, identify root causes, and support sound decision-making

Bring high attention to detail in requirement definition, data validation, issue analysis, and product backlog

Key Skills & Competencies

Business Stakeholder Management (Strong): Ability to engage senior business stakeholders, manage expectations, align priorities, and drive decisions across multiple teams.

Technical User Stories & UAT (Strong): Experience translating business requirements into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting end-to-end UAT execution.

Data Product Understanding (Strong): Strong understanding of enterprise data products, data consumption patterns, KPIs, and business value realization.

SQL (Strong): Hands-on proficiency in SQL for data analysis, validation, troubleshooting, and requirement discovery.

Data Modeling (Medium): Understanding of dimensional modeling concepts, including fact/dimension structures and analytical data design principles.

Data Warehousing (Medium): Familiarity with enterprise data warehouse concepts, data lakes, and modern lakehouse architectures

APIs & Integration (Medium-Strong): Understanding of API-driven integrations, data exchange mechanisms, and enterprise integration patterns.

Power BI/Tableau (Medium): Ability to interpret dashboards, define reporting requirements, and work with visualization teams.

Databricks/Snowflake/BigQuery (Medium): Exposure to modern data platforms and understanding of how enterprise data products are built and consumed.

Cloud Platforms (Medium): Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP data and analytics services.

Data Governance (Medium-Strong): Understanding of data quality, lineage, metadata, security, privacy, and governance principles.

Agile Product Management (Strong): Experience managing backlogs, prioritization, sprint planning, and driving delivery in Agile environments.

AI/GenAI Concepts (Preferred): Awareness of AI, GenAI, and Agentic AI concepts, with the ability to evaluate potential business applications and product opportunities.

Business Stakeholder Management (Strong): Ability to engage senior business stakeholders, manage expectations, align priorities, and drive decisions across multiple teams.

Technical User Stories & UAT (Strong): Experience translating business requirements into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting end-to-end UAT execution.

Data Product Understanding (Strong): Strong understanding of enterprise data products, data consumption patterns, KPIs, and business value realization.

Success Metrics

Successfully own and deliver the enterprise data product roadmap aligned to business priorities.
Establish strong alignment across business, technology, and downstream stakeholders.
Drive high-quality backlog management, requirement clarity, and prioritization discipline.
Demonstrate strong SQL and data analysis capability to validate requirements and support decision-making.

BE/Btech/MBA is necessary
