Role description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Patch & Vulnerability Remediation Engineer to join our Enterprise Patch Management and Security Operations team. The role is responsible for identifying, assessing, testing, and remediating security vulnerabilities across workstation and server environments through effective patch management and vulnerability remediation practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in vulnerability assessment, vulnerability scanning, patch deployment, remediation validation, and enterprise endpoint management using SCCM / MECM.

Key Responsibilities

Perform vulnerability assessment and vulnerability scanning activities to identify security risks across enterprise workstation and server environments.
Analyze vulnerability scan results and validate identified vulnerabilities, affected systems, software versions, and business impact.
Develop and execute vulnerability remediation plans to reduce organizational cyber risk while minimizing business disruption.
Research vendor security advisories, release notes, and remediation guidance to determine appropriate patches and remediations.
Test security updates and patches in controlled environments before enterprise-wide deployment.
Execute operating system patching activities across workstation and server environments in accordance with organizational standards and remediation timelines.
Validate successful remediation by confirming vulnerabilities are resolved through follow-up vulnerability scanning and compliance reporting.
Investigate failed patch deployments, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Document remediation activities, testing outcomes, deployment procedures, implementation recommendations, and known issues.
Collaborate closely with Information Security, Infrastructure, Application Support, and Endpoint Management teams to meet vulnerability remediation SLAs.
Support critical security incidents by performing urgent remediation and patch deployment activities for high-risk and zero-day vulnerabilities.
Monitor emerging security threats, newly disclosed vulnerabilities, and vendor advisories that may impact enterprise systems.
Utilize SCCM / MECM to support patch deployment, compliance monitoring, and endpoint management activities.

Experience

5+ years of experience in enterprise patch management, endpoint engineering, vulnerability remediation, or related infrastructure security roles.
Strong experience managing workstation and server operating system patching activities.
Experience working with enterprise endpoint management and patch compliance processes.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver security remediation initiatives within established SLAs.
Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
