Full job description

The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the business acquisition strategy, building relationships with brands and decision-makers, generating high-value opportunities, leading pitches, and converting prospects into long-term clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the creative, advertising, branding, digital marketing, social media, content, and media landscape, along with a proven ability to build and lead a high-performing business development team.

Key Responsibilities1. Business Growth & Strategy

Develop and execute Peraka Media's overall business development and revenue growth strategy.
Identify new markets, industries, sectors, and client segments for business expansion.
Define monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
Develop strategies to increase new client acquisition, repeat business, and account value.
Identify opportunities for expanding Peraka Media's service portfolio with existing and prospective clients.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in the advertising and digital ecosystem.

2. New Client Acquisition

Build and maintain a strong pipeline of high-quality prospective clients.
Identify and connect with key decision-makers such as Marketing Heads, Brand Managers, CMOs, Founders, and Business Heads.
Lead strategic outreach through networking, referrals, industry events, LinkedIn, email, calls, and partnerships.
Develop relationships with brands across relevant industries.
Lead high-value client acquisition from prospecting → meeting → pitch → negotiation → closure.
Build a strong network of potential clients and strategic partners.

3. Pitching & Business Conversion

Lead major client presentations, creative pitches, proposals, and business negotiations.
Work closely with the Creative, Strategy, Media, and Account Management teams to develop compelling proposals.
Understand client business challenges and position Peraka Media's services as strategic solutions.
Lead commercial discussions, pricing, scope, timelines, and contract negotiations.
Ensure proposals are commercially viable while remaining competitive.
Drive opportunities through the sales pipeline and ensure timely closure.

4. Client Relationship Management

Build strong, long-term relationships with key clients and decision-makers.
Act as a senior point of contact for strategic and high-value accounts.
Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services.
Develop key accounts into long-term retainer relationships.
Maintain regular communication with major clients to understand upcoming marketing requirements.
Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and business continuity.

5. Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and manage the Business Development team.
Set individual and team sales targets and KPIs.
Allocate leads and opportunities effectively.
Conduct regular pipeline reviews and performance evaluations.
Train team members on prospecting, pitching, negotiation, and closing.
Establish a structured sales process and reporting system.
Motivate the team to consistently achieve and exceed revenue targets.

6. Agency Collaboration

Work closely with the Creative and Strategy teams to understand the agency's capabilities and develop appropriate solutions for clients.
Coordinate with Account Management to ensure a smooth transition from business acquisition to client servicing.
Collaborate with Finance on pricing, profitability, payment terms, and commercial negotiations.
Ensure business opportunities are aligned with the agency's creative capabilities and operational capacity.

7. Strategic Partnerships

Identify and develop partnerships with complementary businesses, media companies, technology platforms, influencers, production houses, and other relevant organizations.
Explore opportunities for strategic collaborations, joint pitches, and new revenue streams.
Build relationships that can generate consistent referral and partnership-based business.
