Designation: Assistant Sales Manager (ASM)
Division: KBPL
Location: Panchkula

Reporting to: Sales Manager

Job Summary:

To drive sales growth, distribution expansion, market execution and achievement of business targets in the assigned territory. Responsible for managing distributors, retailers and sales team execution while ensuring effective implementation of company sales, distribution, visibility and market development strategies in the FMCG business.

Primary Responsibilities: (Daily)

Overall responsibility for achieving sales and distribution targets in the assigned territory.
Responsible for achieving primary and secondary sales targets as per agreed business plans.
Responsible for effective implementation of company sales strategies, schemes, promotions and initiatives in the market.
Responsible for distributor management, including order planning, stock availability, claims, collections and overall business performance.
Responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with distributors, retailers and key trade partners.
Responsible for ensuring availability and visibility of company products across the assigned market.
Responsible for driving numeric distribution, outlet coverage, productivity and market penetration as per targets.
Responsible for monitoring market stock, inventory levels, ageing and ensuring optimum stock availability.
Responsible for effective route planning, beat planning and execution by the sales team.
Responsible for monitoring and improving sales team productivity, market working and outlet coverage.
Responsible for conducting regular market visits with sales team members and providing on-the-job coaching and guidance.
Responsible for monitoring competitor activities, pricing, schemes, new launches, visibility and market trends and providing timely feedback to management.
Responsible for ensuring proper implementation of merchandising, branding, visibility and point-of-sale activities in the assigned territory.
Responsible for achieving product-wise, channel-wise and territory-wise sales targets.
Responsible for ensuring timely reporting of sales, distribution, market activities and other MIS as per company requirements.
Responsible for monitoring outstanding payments and supporting timely collection from distributors/customers as per agreed credit norms.
Responsible for identifying new business opportunities, new outlets and potential markets for expansion.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with company sales policies, processes and commercial guidelines.
Responsible for Performance Management, capability building and training of sales team members.
Responsible for ensuring effective execution of all company campaigns, launches, promotions and trade activities in the assigned territory.

Secondary Responsibilities: (as per Calendar)

Monthly/weekly sales target planning and review.
Distributor performance review and action planning.
Market working and joint market visits with Sales Manager.
New outlet identification and distribution expansion.
Review of secondary sales, stock and inventory ageing.
Competitor activity and market intelligence reporting.
Review of product-wise and territory-wise sales performance.
Implementation and review of merchandising and visibility standards.
Sales team training, coaching and competency development.
Participation in sales review meetings and business planning.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, processes and applicable statutory requirements.
Driving execution of new product launches and promotional activities.
Monitoring and reporting market issues, customer complaints and service-related concerns.
Supporting credit control and timely collection of outstanding payments.
Ensuring 24*7 readiness for business-critical requirements and management initiatives, as applicable.
Driving a strong performance culture, customer focus and execution excellence across the assigned territory.
