Job Description:
Network Engineer We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. In this role, you will ensure our voice, data, and wireless network services are highly available, secure, and optimized for performance. You will play a key part in troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, deploying new hardware, and collaborating on cloud integration projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Network Architecture & Deployment
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless controllers, and access points.
- Develop and maintain scalable network architectures supporting both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Evaluate emerging networking technologies and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
2.Cloud Networking & Hybrid Infrastructure
- Design, implement, and support cloud networking solutions across AWS and Azure environments.
- Manage AWS networking services including VPCs, Transit Gateway, Route Tables, NAT Gateways, Internet Gateways, Security Groups, Network ACLs, Route 53, Direct Connect, and VPN connectivity.
• Support Azure networking services including VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Load Balancers, and Application Gateways. • Design and maintain secure hybrid connectivity between corporate data centers and cloud environments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams on cloud migration initiatives and network optimization efforts.
3. Network Operations & Maintenance
- Monitor network health, performance, and availability across enterprise and cloud environments.
- Perform upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and proactive maintenance activities.
- Participate in capacity planning and performance optimization initiatives.
4. Advanced Troubleshooting & Incident Response
- Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for complex network and cloud connectivity issues.
- Diagnose and resolve routing, switching, wireless, firewall, VPN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking problems.
- Participate in major incident response activities and root cause analysis efforts.
5. Network Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain secure network architectures aligned with industry best practices.
- Manage next-generation firewalls, VPN technologies, segmentation strategies, NAC solutions, and cloud-native security controls.
- Partner with Information Security teams to support vulnerability remediation, audit requirements, HIPAA compliance, PCI DSS compliance, and security initiatives.
6. Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Develop and maintain automation solutions for network provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks.
- Utilize Terraform, Ansible, Python, or similar technologies to automate infrastructure deployment and reduce configuration drift.
- Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives for cloud networking environments.
7. Documentation & Governance
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, cloud architecture diagrams, configuration standards, asset inventories, and operational procedures.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and support disaster recovery planning activities.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Systems Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Security, Helpdesk, and Application teams to support enterprise technology initiatives.
- Participate in architecture reviews and provide networking expertise for new projects and business initiatives.
Required Education, Skills, & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
2. 10-12 years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
3. Strong expertise in routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, VRFs, QoS, IPv4, and IPv6.
4. Hands-on experience with Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Juniper, Arista, or equivalent enterprise networking platforms.
5. Experience managing Fortinet, Palo Alto, or equivalent next-generation firewalls.
6. Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, NTP, TACACS+, RADIUS, and network authentication services.
7. Deep understanding of enterprise wireless networking technologies including Wi-Fi 6/6E/7, WPA3, 802.1X, RF design, and wireless security.
8. Hands-on experience supporting AWS networking services and hybrid-cloud connectivity.
9. Experience supporting Azure networking technologies and cloud network security controls.
10. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
11. Collaboration: A team-first attitude with the ability to participate in an on-call rotation for critical infrastructure emergencies.
Preferred Education, Skills, & Experience
1. CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, JNCIA, JNCIP, AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or equivalent certifications.
2. Experience designing and supporting SD-WAN solutions.
3. Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Python, and network automation frameworks.
4. Experience with cloud security architecture and Zero Trust networking principles.
5. Familiarity with network observability, packet analysis, and performance monitoring platforms.
6. Experience in healthcare, HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOC 2, or regulated environments.
7. Experience supporting multi-site enterprise organizations and hybrid workforce environments.
Working Environment
1. On-call rotation or availability for after-hours incident response may be required.
2. The office environment is a controlled indoor setting with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
3. Noise levels in the office are typically moderate and consistent with a standard office setting.
4. For employees approved to work in a hybrid or remote setting, a quiet, private workspace free from significant distractions is required to ensure productivity during work hours.
5. A reliable high speed internet connection is required for hybrid/remote work. EMS|MC will provide necessary equipment, including a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset.
