The Site FEHSS Manager is the single accountable site leader for Facilities, Environment, Health & Safety, and Physical Security. The role protects Sensata's people, property, and planet by ensuring full regulatory compliance, operating a risk-based management system aligned to global Sensata standards, and delivering reliable facility infrastructure that enables uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role. The FEHSS Manager executes hazard identification and risk control, drives a injury prevention safety culture, maintains critical building systems, leads site physical security programs to protect people, property, and critical business assets, and delivers accurate safety, environmental and energy data for corporate reporting.
General Responsibilities
- Manages the design, planning, construction, renovation of buildings and infrastructure
- Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs
- Develop and deploy organizational policies relevant to the facilities department
- Manages the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
- Develops plans and programs that meet present and anticipated space and facility requirements
- Manages the monitoring and inspecting of all buildings and equipment to ensure that utility systems are fully operational and that preventive maintenance schedules are being followed
- Prepares cost estimates for building renovations or space allocations
Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

Own site compliance with all applicable EHS laws, permits, and Sensata global EHS standards; maintain a live legal register with zero major regulatory findings.

Execute the global incident management process: reporting, classification and escalation, Incident reporting, root-cause investigations with effective corrective actions closed on time.

Lead injury prevention: identify and control high-energy hazards (machine safety, LOTO, electrical, chemical, working at height, powered industrial vehicles) through risk assessment and the hierarchy of controls.

Drive leading-indicator performance: hazard observations, near-miss reporting, leadership safety walks, and EHS training completion.

Operate the site management system to ISO 45001, and ISO 14001; lead internal audits, management reviews, and external certification readiness.

Manage occupational health programs: industrial hygiene monitoring, ergonomics, occupational medical surveillance, and first-aid/emergency medical response.

Manage environmental compliance: air emissions, wastewater/effluent, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, chemical management, and spill prevention and response.

Deliver accurate, timely Scope 1 and Scope 2 energy and GHG activity data into corporate sustainability reporting systems (single source of truth discipline).

Execute site-level decarbonization, waste-reduction, and water-stewardship projects in support of corporate SBTi commitments and targets.

Operate and maintain all building systems, HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors and compressed air distribution, electrical distribution, UPS/generators, fire protection, and water systems, to defined reliability and uptime targets.

Run a structured preventive/predictive maintenance program; manage work-order backlog and critical spares.

Plan and execute facility capital projects: scoping, budgeting, contractor selection, construction safety oversight, and commissioning.

Manage soft services (cleaning, cafeteria, grounds, potable water & waste logistics) and facility vendor contracts to defined service levels and cost targets.

Own site energy management: monitor consumption, deliver efficiency projects, and support ISO 50001-aligned practices and renewable energy initiatives.

Ensure building and fire code compliance, statutory inspections and certifications, and business continuity readiness for facility-related disruption.

Develop and manage operating (OPEX) budgets for FEHSS function

Control costs while ensuring reliability, compliance, and safety standards

Analyze performance metrics and drive cost optimization initiatives

Manage vendor contracts and service agreements

Implement and maintain Sensata global physical security standards: access control, CCTV, perimeter protection, visitor and contractor management, and key/badge governance.

Manage the site guard force (proprietary or contract) including post orders, training, and performance management.

Conduct periodic site security risk assessments; maintain and test security incident response plans in coordination with Global Physical Security.

Support compliance security requirements including C-TPAT, TISAX, ITAR, AEO (or regional equivalent), customer security audits, and export-control physical safeguards where applicable.

Lead site investigations (theft, misconduct, workplace violence concerns) in partnership with HR, Legal, and Global Physical Security; maintain confidentiality and chain of custody.

Own the integrated site emergency response plan covering fire, medical, chemical release, natural disaster, security threat, and utility failure scenarios.

Train and drill the site Emergency Response Team; conduct at least [insert frequency] full-site drills annually with documented lessons learned.

Serve as site crisis coordinator, activating regional and corporate escalation per the GSSO classification and escalation matrix.

Build and develop a capable site FEHSS team; set objectives, coach performance, and plan succession.

Report site FEHSS performance through the GSSO governance rhythm using the standard KPI framework; ensure data integrity in all corporate systems.

Influence site leadership and supervision to own safety outcomes; embed FEHSS requirements into daily management systems and Gemba routines.

Partner across functions (Operations, HR, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain) and with peer FEHSS Managers to share and adopt best practices.

Nationally recognized safety qualification meeting the statutory Safety Officer requirement of the operating country.

At least one internationally recognized professional credential — e.g., NEBOSH IGC/Diploma, CSP/ASP, CRSP, CMIOSH, or equivalent — or commitment to obtain within 18 months of appointment.

Internal auditor training for ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 (or obtained within 12 months).

Master's degree in engineering, EHS, or management.

Certified Energy Manager (CEM), fire safety credential, or facilities management credential (IFMA FMP/CFM).

Experience in automotive, electronics, or sensor manufacturing environments (IATF 16949 exposure).

Experience with C-TPAT, ITAR, TISAX or equivalent security programs and customer security audits.

Multi-site or regional FEHSS exposure; experience deploying corporate standards at site level.
