Job Purpose
The Senior Specialist, Aircraft Maintenance Planning and Control is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities to ensure fleet airworthiness, operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and optimal aircraft availability. The role develops and manages maintenance plans, monitors maintenance program compliance, coordinates maintenance inputs, and collaborates with Engineering, Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Flight Operations to ensure maintenance activities are executed efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term aircraft maintenance plans in accordance with the approved Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP), regulatory requirements, and operational priorities.
- Plan scheduled maintenance events, including A-checks, C-checks, structural inspections, component replacement programs, and mandatory maintenance tasks.
- Monitor aircraft utilization, flying hours, flight cycles, and calendar limitations to ensure timely accomplishment of maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate maintenance inputs with Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Engineering, Material Planning, Production Planning, and Operations Control.
- Ensure maintenance work packages are complete, accurate, and available prior to maintenance events.
- Monitor due lists, deferred defects, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Engineering Orders (EOs), and life-limited component requirements.
- Optimize maintenance schedules to maximize aircraft availability while minimizing operational disruption and maintenance costs.
- Review maintenance forecasts and adjust plans based on operational changes, aircraft utilization, and fleet requirements.
- Track maintenance progress during maintenance events and coordinate recovery plans for schedule deviations.
- Support aircraft induction, lease transitions, fleet entry into service, and aircraft retirement activities from a maintenance planning perspective.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure timely availability of materials, tooling, and rotable components required for planned maintenance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance planning data within the Maintenance Information System (MIS) or Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) software.
- Prepare maintenance status reports, fleet maintenance forecasts, compliance reports, and management dashboards.
- Support internal and external regulatory audits by providing maintenance planning records and evidence of compliance.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance planning efficiency, aircraft dispatch reliability, and maintenance performance.
- Mentor junior planners and provide technical guidance on maintenance planning processes and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related discipline.
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License or equivalent aviation qualification is desirable.
- Professional certification in maintenance planning, project management, or continuing airworthiness is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in aircraft maintenance planning, production planning, continuing airworthiness, or maintenance control within an airline, MRO, or CAMO environment.
- Experience planning scheduled maintenance for commercial aircraft fleets.
- Experience using computerized maintenance planning systems such as AMOS, TRAX, Ramco Aviation, Rusada ENVISION, or SAP.
- Experience supporting regulatory audits and compliance activities.

Working Conditions
- Office-based role with frequent interaction with Maintenance Control, Engineering, Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Flight Operations.
- May require shift work or extended hours to support aircraft maintenance events, operational disruptions, or AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations.
- Occasional travel may be required to maintenance facilities, operational stations, or training locations.
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹450,000.00 per month
