Job Overview :

To supervise the operations of the Reservations Department during shift by assisting in coordinating operational plans to meet the Hotel's sales targets. At Holiday Inn, we want people who are friendly, welcoming, and full of life; people who are always finding ways to make every guest’s experience an enjoyable one.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Financial Returns:

In the absence of the Director of Revenue, conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known
Sell the Group products and services using up-selling and suggestive selling techniques
Promote the Hotel’s (and ICHG generally) products and services
Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge about Hotels
Prepare and execute action plans which increase reservation sales and associated business
Record and process reservations made by phone/fax/email
Accept wait list reservations
Process amendments to reservations such as extensions, early departures, etc
Manage “no show” reservations by investigation and recording of same
Record special billing arrangements for groups and conventions
Liaise with Rooms Division or Finance for all reservations requiring credit approval or any co-related tasks
Implementation of IHG Way of Sales
Maintain knowledge of special rates/ offers/ promotions
Monitor reservation levels and inform Managers of current and future occupancy rates
Prepare reports as requested (eg. to travel agents, business houses etc)
Prepare reservation sales reports
Works with superior in the preparation and management of the Department’s budget

People:

Manage day to day reservation activities, plan and complete assigned work with deadlines,
Work with other department for smooth functioning of work

Guest Experience:

Provide guests with information (example: loyalty programs, area attractions, restaurants, facility information) to enhance guest experience.

Responsible Business:

Identify operational problems that reduce the effectiveness of marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with the appropriate department on solutions.
Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community. Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty.

Qualifications & Requirements :

Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or related field.

3 years of relevant experience as Manager Reservations / Assistant Manager in addition to Supervisory role experience of 2 years, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Excellent knowledge of Opera PMS, CRS, IHG Systems

Understanding of OTA and other Source / Channels management, Invoice Payment processing with accuracy
