Corporate Travel & MICE Business Development Manager

Location: Kolkata
Job Type: Full-time
Experience: 3–7 years

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Corporate Travel & MICE Business Development Manager to drive our corporate travel and MICE business.

The candidate will be responsible for acquiring new corporate clients, developing long-term corporate relationships, managing business travel requirements and generating MICE business including international conferences, incentive travel, dealer meets, corporate events and group movements.

The ideal candidate should have proven experience in B2B corporate travel/MICE sales, preferably with an established network of corporate decision-makers and experience in handling corporate travel and MICE requirements.

Identify, prospect and acquire new corporate accounts for the company's travel business.
Develop relationships with corporate decision-makers including HR, Admin, Procurement, Travel Desk, Finance and senior management.
Generate new business through corporate meetings, networking, referrals, industry contacts and other B2B channels.
Understand corporate travel requirements and present customized travel solutions.
Develop long-term relationships with corporate clients and identify opportunities for business expansion.
Prepare corporate proposals, commercial offers and service presentations.
Negotiate commercial terms and close corporate contracts/business arrangements.
Maintain a healthy corporate sales pipeline and regularly follow up with prospective accounts.

Corporate Travel Management

Handle corporate requirements for air ticketing, hotel bookings, transfers, visas and other business travel services through the relevant internal teams.
Understand corporate travel policies and provide suitable travel solutions.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and professional servicing of corporate clients.
Identify opportunities to increase the company's share of business within existing corporate accounts.
Ensure a high level of service and responsiveness to corporate clients.

MICE Business Development

Identify and develop opportunities for MICE, corporate groups and incentive travel.
Generate business for:
International Conferences
Corporate Events
Dealer / Distributor Meets
Incentive Trips
Annual Conferences
Sales Meetings
Corporate Retreats
Team Outings
Group Tours
Exhibitions / Trade Events
International Business Events
Understand the client's event objectives, group size, budget and destination preferences.
Coordinate with DMCs, hotels, airlines, venues and other suppliers to develop suitable proposals.
Participate in negotiations with suppliers and clients to achieve commercially viable solutions.
Work closely with the operations team for smooth execution after confirmation.
Maintain relationships with existing MICE clients and generate repeat and referral business.

Client & Account Management

Act as the primary business relationship point for assigned corporate accounts.
Conduct regular client meetings and account reviews.
Understand client satisfaction levels and identify opportunities for improvement.
Resolve commercial or service-related concerns in coordination with the relevant internal teams.
Develop strong relationships with key corporate stakeholders.
Identify cross-selling opportunities across corporate travel, leisure travel and MICE services.

Candidate Requirements

3–7 years of relevant experience in Corporate Travel Sales / B2B Travel Sales / MICE Business Development.
Proven experience in acquiring corporate accounts and generating B2B travel business.
Experience dealing directly with corporate decision-makers.
Hands-on experience in corporate air ticketing and hotel booking business will be preferred.
Experience in selling and handling MICE / corporate groups / incentive travel is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of corporate travel and international travel products.
Excellent B2B sales, presentation, negotiation and closing skills.
Strong networking and relationship-building ability.
Ability to independently identify prospects and convert them into corporate accounts.
Strong commercial understanding and ability to negotiate rates and business terms.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good knowledge of MS Office, Excel and CRM/sales-management tools.
Willingness to travel locally for corporate meetings and business development when required.

Handle commercial negotiations confidently.
Convert prospects into long-term corporate accounts.
Take ownership of the complete business-development cycle from prospecting → meeting → proposal → negotiation → closure → account development.
