1. Role Purpose
The Senior Manager – Exports will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of export operations, ensuring seamless coordination from receipt of Purchase Orders through production, quality, documentation, logistics, and shipment until successful delivery to international customers. The incumbent will drive operational excellence, statutory compliance, customer satisfaction, and cross-functional coordination while supporting the company's global business growth.
2. Role Dimensions
- Manage complete export order execution from Purchase Order to shipment.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Finance, Logistics, and Dispatch.
- Ensure timely availability of materials and adherence to customer delivery schedules.
- Manage export documentation and statutory compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international customers.
- Drive continuous improvement with the objective of Zero Customer Complaints.
3. Key Responsibilities
A. Export Order Execution (25% Focus)
- Review and process export Purchase Orders received from international customers.
- Prepare order execution plans in coordination with Production Planning.
- Monitor order status and ensure timely manufacturing and shipment.
- Track customer delivery schedules and proactively resolve execution issues.
B. Production, Planning & Supply Chain Coordination (20% Focus)
- Coordinate with Procurement for timely availability of raw materials.
- Liaise with Production, PPC, Stores, and Quality to ensure uninterrupted execution of export orders.
- Monitor production progress and expedite critical orders.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications throughout the manufacturing process.
C. Export Documentation & Commercial Compliance (20% Focus)
- Prepare and verify export documentation including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Shipping Bill, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Inspection Certificates, Insurance Documents, and other statutory documents.
- Coordinate preparation and issuance of accurate Mill Test Certificates (MTCs).
- Ensure compliance with Customs, DGFT, FEMA, INCOTERMS, and international trade regulations.
- Coordinate with Finance for export billing, banking documentation, and export incentive claims.
D. Packing, Dispatch & Logistics (15% Focus)
- Ensure export packing, bundling, marking, and labeling comply with customer specifications and international standards.
- Coordinate container planning, loading, dispatch, and shipment schedules.
- Liaise with Shipping Lines, Freight Forwarders, Customs House Agents (CHA), and logistics partners.
- Monitor shipment progress to ensure on-time delivery.
E. Customer Relationship Management (10% Focus)
- Act as the primary point of contact for export customers.
- Provide regular updates on production, documentation, and shipment status.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate customer inspections, audits, and technical visits.
- Build long-term relationships through superior customer service.
F. Quality & Continuous Improvement (10% Focus)
- Ensure adherence to customer specifications and international quality standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Drive initiatives to eliminate recurring issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain the objective of Zero Customer Complaints and Zero Shipment Rejections.

5. Ideal Candidate
Qualification
- B.E. Mechanical Engineering or B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering.
- MBA in Operations, International Business, Supply Chain Management, or Marketing preferred.
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in Export Operations within the Steel, Pipes & Tubes, Structural Steel, Engineering, or Manufacturing industry.
- Strong experience in export documentation, international logistics, production coordination, and customer relationship management.
- Thorough knowledge of DGFT regulations, Customs procedures, INCOTERMS, Letters of Credit (LC), export documentation, and international trade compliance.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent.
