Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced HR Business & People Partner to lead the people agenda and employee experience for our Mumbai location. The role will cover employee engagement and culture, performance management, HR analytics and people insights, employee relations, talent development, HR technology, and partnering with business leaders on key people initiatives.
The ideal candidate should be approachable and people-focused, with the ability to build strong relationships across the organisation. They should be comfortable handling employee concerns and sensitive situations, using data to identify people trends and provide insights, and working closely with employees, managers, and senior stakeholders to address people-related matters effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Experience & Culture — Core Ownership
- Own and continuously improve the employee experience across the employee lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities to make HR processes more employee-friendly, simple and meaningful.
- Drive initiatives that strengthen employee connection, belonging and culture.
- Own the annual Employee Engagement & Culture calendar.
- Conduct employee connects, listening sessions and pulse surveys.
- Analyse employee feedback and convert insights into meaningful actions.
- Track employee sentiment and identify recurring themes or concerns.
- Drive initiatives around recognition, wellness, inclusion, celebrations and employee wellbeing.
- Lead the Rewards & Recognition program and appreciation initiatives.
- Build a culture where employees feel heard, valued and respected.
- Partner with employees and managers to improve the overall workplace experience.
Performance Management
- Drive annual goal-setting, mid-year reviews and year-end performance reviews.
- Ensure timely completion and adoption of PMS.
- Improve the quality of employee goals and performance conversations.
- Support managers in having meaningful performance discussions.
- Analyse performance trends and identify areas requiring intervention.
- Support PIP processes and performance improvement initiatives.
- Support talent reviews and 9-box discussions.
- Develop PMS dashboards and reports (all locations)
- Continuously improve the PMS experience through Keka/HRIS.
HR Analytics & People Insights
Own HR analytics and use people data to provide meaningful insights and support decision-making.
- Develop and maintain monthly HR dashboards covering headcount, attrition, performance, engagement, promotions, internal movements, demographics, attendance, and employee lifecycle metrics.
- Analyse trends and identify people risks.
- Prepare management dashboards and translate HR data into clear recommendations.
- Partner with Keka/HRIS teams to improve automation, reporting, and data accuracy.
- Reduce manual reporting and establish meaningful HR metrics to measure employee experience.
Employee Relations & Sensitive Situations
This should be an important part of the role, but not the dominant focus.
- Handle employee concerns, grievances and sensitive situations with empathy and confidentiality.
- Support managers in addressing difficult people situations.
- Conduct difficult conversations when required.
- Manage conflict situations objectively and fairly.
- Ensure HR decisions are consistent with company policies and principles.
- Maintain composure in challenging situations.
- Balance employee advocacy with organisational requirements.
- Identify situations that require escalation and provide appropriate recommendations.
Mumbai HR Partnership
As the HR Lead for Mumbai, the individual will take ownership of the overall people experience at the location.

Talent & People Development
- Support identification of high-performing and high-potential employees.
- Participate in talent review and succession planning discussions.
- Identify development needs through PMS and employee feedback.
HR Technology & Transformation
- Drive effective adoption of Keka/HRIS.
- Identify opportunities to digitise and simplify HR processes.
- Improve employee self-service and HR accessibility.
- Drive adoption of PMS, engagement and recognition features.
- Develop automated HR dashboards.
- Reduce dependency on manual HR processes.
- Continuously improve the employee experience through technology.
Stakeholder Management
- Present people insights and recommendations to business leaders.
- Provide a balanced HR perspective on complex people matters.
- Challenge decisions respectfully where employee or organisational risks exist.
- Handle difficult conversations with managers and leaders.
- Support the Senior HR Manager on strategic HR initiatives.
- Independently lead assigned HR projects.
- Step up and take ownership when situations require senior HR intervention.
Required Qualifications and Skills:

8–10 years of relevant experience in Human Resources.

Strong experience in employee experience, employee engagement, culture, and performance management.

Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to convert HR data into actionable insights.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle sensitive employee matters with empathy, confidentiality, objectivity, and sound judgement.

Ability to work effectively with employees, managers, and senior stakeholders.

Experience working with HRIS platforms, preferably Keka.

Strong project management and ownership skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
