ABOUT THE ROLE
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for the overall leadership, growth, profitability, and operational excellence of the hospital. The CEO will ensure high-quality patient care while driving financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and organizational development.
The role requires a leader who understands both healthcare delivery and hospital business management and can build a high-performing institution with strong clinical outcomes and exceptional patient experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the hospital's short-term and long-term strategic plans; drive growth in patient volumes, revenue, and market share; identify new specialties, service lines, and expansion opportunities; establish annual business plans and monitor execution; build the hospital's brand and reputation within Mumbai.
2. Hospital Operations: Provide end-to-end operational leadership across OPD, IPD, Emergency, ICU, Operation Theatre, Diagnostics, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Housekeeping, Facility Management, Front Office, and Administration. Ensure smooth daily functioning with high operational efficiency.
3. Financial Management: Own complete Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility including budget preparation, revenue planning, cost optimization, EBITDA improvement, cash flow management, vendor negotiations, procurement oversight, revenue cycle management, billing efficiency, and collection improvement. Drive sustainable profitability without compromising patient care.
4. Business Development & Growth: Lead initiatives to increase patient footfall through doctor engagement programs, corporate tie-ups, TPAs & Insurance partnerships, government empanelments, community outreach, referral programs, digital marketing initiatives, health camps, and CSR activities. Build relationships with referring physicians, consultants, local practitioners, corporates, and diagnostic partners.
5. Clinical Governance: Work closely with the Medical Director and clinical leadership to improve patient safety, reduce clinical errors, monitor quality indicators, improve infection control, enhance clinical outcomes, and ensure evidence-based practices. Promote a culture of ethical and patient-centric healthcare.
6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with NABH Standards, Maharashtra Clinical Establishment requirements (where applicable), Biomedical Waste Management Rules, Fire Safety Regulations, Labour Laws, Pharmacy regulations, Radiation safety, Pollution Control norms, and Municipal regulations. Lead accreditation initiatives and audits.
7. Human Resource Leadership: Lead recruitment and retention strategies for doctors, nurses, technicians, and administrative staff. Create a high-performance culture through performance management, training & development, employee engagement, leadership development, and succession planning.
8. Quality & Patient Experience: Drive continuous improvement in patient satisfaction, turnaround time, complaint resolution, service quality, and clinical quality indicators. Monitor KPIs including Bed Occupancy Ratio (BOR), Average Length of Stay (ALOS), Infection Rates, Readmission Rates, Net Promoter Score (NPS), and Patient Satisfaction Scores.
9. Technology & Digital Transformation: Promote adoption and effective use of Hospital Information System (HIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), revenue dashboards, Business Intelligence (BI), digital patient engagement, telemedicine services, and data-driven decision making.
10. Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with Board of Directors, Promoters, Consultants, Medical staff, Government authorities, Insurance companies, TPAs, Vendors, Community leaders, and Healthcare partners. Represent the hospital at industry forums and networking events.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)
- Financial: Revenue Growth, EBITDA Margin, Operating Profit, Cost per Occupied Bed, Cash Flow. Operations: Bed Occupancy >70%, OPD Growth, Surgery Growth, Average Length of Stay, Turnaround Time.
- Quality: NABH Compliance, Infection Control Metrics, Patient Safety Indicators, Clinical Outcomes.
- Customer: Patient Satisfaction, Complaint Closure Rate, Net Promoter Score, Repeat Patient Percentage.
- Growth: New Consultant Onboarding, Corporate Accounts Acquired, New Clinical Programs, Market Share Growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred:
MBBS with MBA (Hospital Administration/Healthcare Management); MBBS with MHA; MBA in Healthcare Management; MHA; Masters in Hospital Administration. Additional certifications in NABH, Lean Healthcare, Six Sigma, or Quality Management are desirable.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
12–18 years of hospital management experience. Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role (CEO/COO/General Manager/Unit Head). Experience managing a 30–100 bed multi-specialty hospital is preferred. Demonstrated P&L ownership and hospital turnaround or growth experience. Strong understanding of NABH accreditation, healthcare regulations, and hospital operations.

Salary: upto 24L PA
Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹2,400,000.00 per year
