Position: Sales Executive (Ethnic Wear), India

Company: R.D. Distributors

Report to: National Sales Head/Director

Place: Nagpur, Maharashtra

Role Overview

The Sales Executive will be responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening retail distribution, and expanding the brand presence of ethnic wear products across India. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and market expertise to manage retail partners, distributors, and the regional sales team.

The candidate will focus on expanding the company’s retail footprint, improving sales productivity, and ensuring efficient order management and product availability across key markets. This role also involves close coordination with internal departments including dispatch, supply chain, marketing, and merchandising to ensure smooth business operations.

The position demands strong relationships with retailers, deep understanding of regional fashion trends, and the ability to drive sales growth in competitive markets.

Key Objectives of the Role

Drive consistent sales growth across India.
Expand the company’s retail and distribution network.
Strengthen the brand presence in ethnic wear retail markets.
Build and manage a high-performing regional sales team.
Ensure efficient order processing and timely product delivery.
Identify new markets and growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

1.Sales Growth & Revenue Management

Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
Drive aggressive sales growth for the company’s ethnic wear product portfolio.
Monitor regional sales performance and implement corrective actions where required.
Identify opportunities for increasing sales through product mix, promotions, and retail partnerships.
Develop action plans to penetrate new cities and untapped markets.
Ensure strong sell-through performance at retail stores.
Work closely with retail partners to increase product visibility and demand.
Monitor secondary sales and inventory levels to ensure continuous product movement.

2 Retail Network Expansion

Build and expand relationships with multi-brand outlets (MBOs), retail stores, and distributors.
Identify and onboard new retail partners across key cities and towns.
Strengthen distribution in Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 markets.
Ensure proper product placement and brand visibility in retail outlets.
Conduct regular retail visits to assess market demand and sales performance.
Support retailers in improving product display and merchandising.

3 Team Leadership & Management

Build, lead, and manage the regional sales team including Area Sales Managers and Sales Executives.
Assign clear targets and responsibilities to team members.
Conduct regular training sessions to improve sales capabilities.
Monitor individual and team performance against sales targets.
Provide mentorship and motivation to maintain high team productivity.
Ensure strong coordination and communication between team members and head office.

4 Order Management & Operational Coordination

Collect and manage orders from retailers and distributors.
Coordinate closely with dispatch, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure timely product delivery.
Follow up on order processing, dispatch schedules, and delivery timelines.
Ensure efficient stock allocation and product availability.
Resolve order-related issues and customer concerns quickly.
Maintain smooth communication between sales, operations, and supply chain teams.

5 Market Intelligence & Business Development

Track market trends and consumer demand in the ethnic wear segment.
Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and promotional campaigns.
Provide regular market insights and feedback to senior management.
Support product development teams with feedback on customer preferences.
Identify opportunities for launching new collections or expanding product categories.

6 Brand Promotion & Marketing Support

Support marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns across the region.
Ensure strong brand presence at retail outlets.
Coordinate with marketing teams for seasonal launches and festive promotions.
Participate in exhibitions, trade shows, and dealer meets to promote the brand.

7 Reporting & Performance Analysis

Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports.
Track sales performance and analyze key metrics.
Present regional performance updates to senior management.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts and inventory planning.
Monitor key performance indicators and identify improvement areas.

8. Return Goods (RG) Control

Monitor and control Return Goods (RG) from retailers and distributors across the West Zone.
Ensure proper verification, approval, and documentation of returned products as per company policy.
Analyze reasons for returns such as damage, slow-moving stock, or incorrect supply and take corrective actions.
Coordinate with warehouse and accounts teams for smooth processing of returned goods.
Work with retailers to minimize return percentages through better product planning and stock management.

9. Payment Follow-up & Credit Management

Ensure timely collection of payments from retailers, distributors, and business partners.
Monitor outstanding payments and maintain credit control within company guidelines.
Regularly follow up with clients to ensure payments are received on time.
Coordinate with the accounts department for payment reconciliation and invoice tracking.
Resolve payment-related issues to maintain healthy business relationships and strong cash flow.

1-2 years of experience in garment, fashion, or ethnic wear sales or fresher also eligible.

Strong network of retailers and distributors in West India markets
Experience in managing large sales teams and achieving aggressive growth targets
