TECHNICAL SALES – POLYMER

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Devi Sahai Charan Dass Associates is the Authorised Del Credere Agent for Reliance Industries across both the Textile and Polymer divisions.

In Textiles, our partnership with Reliance spans over 50 years since 1972, making us the largest Textile DCA in India with a strong network of wholesalers, retailers, garment manufacturers, and institutional customers.

In Polymers, our association with Reliance began in 2003. We deal in Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), and PET, serving industries such as Packaging, Hygiene, Automotive, Pipes, Fibre Optic Cables, Consumer Goods, and Industrial Applications. Today, we are among the largest Reliance DCAs in the Delhi Regional Office by volume.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Technical Sales Executive/Engineer – Polymer who combines technical knowledge of polymers with strong sales and relationship-building skills. The role involves understanding customer applications, recommending suitable polymer grades, identifying new business opportunities, providing technical support, and driving sales growth across existing and prospective customers.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to understand manufacturing processes and recommend the most suitable polymer solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESTechnical Sales & Business Development

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base across various industries.
Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for assigned territories.
Conduct regular customer visits to understand production requirements and business needs.
Generate enquiries, convert leads into business, and ensure customer retention.

Technical Support & Product Recommendation

Recommend suitable polymer grades based on customer applications, processing methods, and performance requirements.
Provide technical guidance regarding PP, PE, PVC, and PET products.
Assist customers in material selection, troubleshooting processing issues, and improving product performance.
Coordinate with Reliance technical teams whenever advanced technical support is required.
Stay updated on new polymer grades, applications, and industry developments.

Customer Relationship Management

Build long-term relationships with customers through regular meetings and follow-ups.
Understand customer challenges and provide value-added technical solutions.
Resolve customer queries regarding products, pricing, availability, and applications.
Maintain complete customer interaction records and sales reports.

Sales Operations

Prepare quotations and coordinate order processing.
Follow up on customer orders until successful dispatch.
Coordinate with internal teams regarding stock availability, pricing, logistics, and dispatch schedules.
Monitor customer payments and support collection activities whenever required.
Ensure timely documentation and reporting.

Market Intelligence

Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and new product developments.
Identify emerging industries and applications for polymer products.
Collect customer feedback and market insights for business planning.
Participate in exhibitions, technical seminars, and customer engagement programs whenever required.

Reporting

Maintain daily sales activity reports.
Prepare weekly and monthly sales updates.
Update CRM/customer database regularly.
Participate in sales meetings and present business updates.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSEducation

Bachelor's Degree in Plastic Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

Freshers with a strong technical background in polymers are encouraged to apply.
0–3 years of experience in polymer, plastics, petrochemical, or chemical sales will be an advantage.
Experience with Reliance Polymer products or DCA/Distributor network is preferred.

Technical Knowledge

Good understanding of polymer grades including:
Polypropylene (PP)
Polyethylene (HDPE, LLDPE, LDPE)
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
PET
Knowledge of polymer processing techniques such as:
Injection Moulding
Blow Moulding
Extrusion
Film Manufacturing
Thermoforming
Pipe Manufacturing
Understanding of different industrial applications of polymers.

Skills

Strong technical and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Customer-centric approach with strong negotiation abilities.
Ability to explain technical concepts to customers in a simple manner.
Good business development and relationship management skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of SAP or ERP systems is an added advantage.
Willingness to travel for customer meetings and business development activities.
