JOB DESCRIPTION: IRD STEWARD – FOOD & BEVERAGE

Location: Andheri East, Airport Road Metro Station, Mumbai – 400059
Salary: ₹15,000 – ₹17,500 per month

Job Summary

The IRD Steward is responsible for providing efficient and courteous In-Room Dining service to hotel guests. The role involves accurate order handling, timely food and beverage delivery, proper table/tray setup, guest interaction, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and service as per hotel SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

Receive and accurately record In-Room Dining orders through the designated system/telephone.
Coordinate with the kitchen and F&B team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
Prepare and arrange trays, trolleys, cutlery, crockery, glassware, condiments, and beverages as per order requirements.
Deliver food and beverages to guest rooms promptly and courteously.
Follow proper guest-room entry procedures and maintain guest privacy and comfort.
Ensure all orders are checked for accuracy, presentation, temperature, and completeness before delivery.
Set up the guest's meal appropriately and explain the order when required.
Handle guest requests, queries, and complaints professionally and inform the concerned supervisor when necessary.
Clear used trays, trolleys, crockery, and service equipment from guest rooms and corridors within the stipulated time.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the IRD pantry, service areas, equipment, trays, and trolleys.
Follow food safety, hygiene, grooming, and sanitation standards at all times.
Maintain proper records of orders, guest requests, and any operational issues.
Coordinate with Housekeeping and other departments whenever required for smooth guest service.
Assist in maintaining adequate stock of cutlery, crockery, glassware, condiments, and IRD supplies.
Ensure proper handling of hotel equipment and immediately report any damage or shortage.
Follow hotel policies, F&B SOPs, fire and safety procedures, and responsible service standards.
Support the F&B team during busy periods, banquets, restaurants, and other operations as required.
Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and excellent guest-service standards.

Skills & Competencies

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Guest-oriented and service-focused attitude.
Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.
Ability to handle multiple orders efficiently.
Good knowledge of hygiene and sanitation practices.
Ability to work under pressure and in shifts.
Team player with a positive attitude.
Good grooming and professional etiquette.
Basic knowledge of POS/order-taking systems is an advantage.

Educational Qualification & Experience

Minimum 10th / 12th pass; Hotel Management or F&B qualification preferred.
Freshers can be considered.
Previous experience in In-Room Dining, F&B Service, or Hotel Operations will be an added advantage.

Working Conditions

Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Flexibility to support different F&B operations based on business requirements.

F&B Supervisor / F&B Captain / IRD Supervisor

Compensation

₹15,000 – ₹17,500 per month, depending on experience and suitability.
