About the Role
Pongrass Publishing Systems is seeking an experienced Manual Software Tester / QA Tester to join our team on an initial six-month contract, with a view to extending the engagement.
This is not a junior or entry-level position. We are looking for an experienced software tester who can work independently and take responsibility for thoroughly testing software before it is released to customers.
Freshers and candidates without previous professional software testing experience will not be considered.
The role will focus primarily on manual testing of new software releases, including our Adobe InDesign plugins, desktop applications and browser-based software. You will work closely with our development team to identify issues, reproduce bugs, document findings and provide clear feedback.
The position is remote; however, we are ideally looking for someone based in Delhi / NCR. The successful candidate will be expected to check in with the team each working day and must be comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of new software releases, updates and bug fixes
- Test Adobe InDesign plugins, desktop applications and browser-based software
- Systematically test new functionality against requirements
- Perform regression testing of existing functionality following software changes
- Identify bugs, unexpected behaviour and usability issues
- Reproduce reported issues and clearly document the steps required to reproduce them
- Provide clear and detailed feedback to the development team
- Retest software following fixes and confirm that issues have been resolved
- Maintain accurate records of testing performed and outstanding issues
- Communicate regularly with developers and other team members
- Participate in a daily remote check-in with the team
- Take ownership of assigned testing and ensure it is completed thoroughly and on time
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' professional software testing / QA experience
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in manual software testing
- Experience testing new software releases, updates and bug fixes
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing
- Ability to independently investigate and reproduce software issues
- Ability to clearly document bugs, test results and reproduction steps
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written and spoken English
- Confident communicating professionally by phone and video call
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable environment for remote work
- Current professional referees who can verify previous software testing experience
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous but is not essential:
- SQL and database knowledge
- Microsoft SQL Server experience
- Adobe InDesign experience
- Experience testing Adobe InDesign plugins
- Newspaper, publishing or media industry experience
- Experience testing publishing, editorial, advertising or production software

Contract Details
This is an independent contract position for an initial period of six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and ongoing requirements.
The contract rate is:
₹80,000–₹100,000 per month, depending on experience
The agreed monthly contract rate will be fixed for the initial six-month contract period.
No additional salary, allowances, bonuses or employee benefits are included in the contract rate.
