Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in application testing, functional and regression testing, performance testing, and load testing.
The successful candidate will take ownership of quality assurance activities for a web-based ERP platform, ensuring application functionality, reliability, scalability, and performance. This role involves end-to-end testing, API and database validation, performance analysis, defect management, and close collaboration with developers and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has practical experience using tools such as JMeter and Postman, understands structured QA methodologies, and can independently plan and execute comprehensive testing activities in a remote engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end application testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT support.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on functional and technical requirements.
- Perform performance, load, stress, and scalability testing for web-based applications.
- Design and execute performance test scenarios using JMeter or similar performance-testing tools.
- Analyze test results, identify performance bottlenecks, and work with developers to improve application performance and stability.
- Conduct REST API testing and validate backend services using Postman or similar tools.
- Perform database validation, backend verification, and data-integrity checks using MySQL or similar relational databases.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using standard defect-management tools.
- Conduct regression testing following application enhancements, bug fixes, and releases.
- Participate in requirement analysis and provide QA input during the early stages of development.
- Ensure appropriate QA standards and testing practices are followed throughout the SDLC and STLC.
- Collaborate with developers, product teams, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
- Monitor production issues and contribute to root cause analysis (RCA).
- Prepare testing reports, defect summaries, performance results, and quality metrics for stakeholders.
- Support and mentor junior QA team members and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and release activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 4–5 years of professional software testing / QA experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in functional testing and regression testing.
- Demonstrated practical experience in performance testing and load testing.
- Hands-on experience with JMeter or a comparable performance-testing tool.
- Experience testing web-based applications.
- Strong experience with REST API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Good understanding of SDLC and STLC.
- Experience preparing detailed test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test reports.
- Experience with defect tracking and test-management tools.
- Working knowledge of MySQL or similar relational databases, including data validation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Understanding of test automation concepts and tools such as Selenium or similar.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software deployment processes.
- Familiarity with Git/version control.
- Understanding of system monitoring, application performance indicators, response times, throughput, resource utilization, and other performance metrics.
- Previous experience testing ERP or other complex business applications would be an advantage.
