HR Manager – HR Operations & Blue-Collar Workforce

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Manager with 7+ years of experience in HR Operations and Workforce Management, particularly in managing large blue-collar/ground-level employee populations.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of PF, ESIC, attendance, payroll coordination, employee lifecycle management, labour compliance, grievance handling, and workforce discipline. The candidate must be comfortable managing a high-volume workforce and handling day-to-day HR operations independently.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end HR Operations for a large blue-collar workforce.
Handle employee joining, onboarding, documentation, transfers, confirmations, and exits.
Manage daily attendance, leave, shift, overtime, and manpower records.
Coordinate with payroll teams for accurate and timely salary processing.
Handle PF, ESIC, PT, LWF and other statutory compliances as applicable.
Ensure timely PF/ESIC registrations, updates, employee queries, and compliance-related documentation.
Maintain accurate employee records and HR MIS.
Handle employee grievances, disciplinary issues, absenteeism, and workforce-related concerns.
Coordinate with supervisors/site managers/operations teams for daily manpower requirements.
Monitor manpower deployment, attrition, absenteeism and workforce productivity.
Manage large-scale recruitment and onboarding requirements for blue-collar employees.
Ensure compliance with company HR policies and applicable labour laws.
Coordinate with external agencies, contractors and statutory authorities whenever required.
Conduct regular employee engagement and communication activities.
Prepare and share HR reports related to headcount, attendance, attrition, absenteeism, overtime and manpower cost.
Support HR audits and ensure proper maintenance of statutory and employee documentation.
Handle employee exits, full & final coordination, and exit documentation.
Ensure smooth implementation of HR processes across locations/sites.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of hands-on experience in HR Operations.
Strong experience in managing a large blue-collar workforce is mandatory.
Excellent practical knowledge of PF & ESIC and statutory compliance.
Strong understanding of attendance, shifts, leave, overtime and payroll processes.
Experience in handling employee grievances and disciplinary matters.
Good knowledge of applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
Strong HR MIS and reporting skills.
Experience working with contractors/manpower agencies will be an added advantage.
Strong communication, coordination and people-management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, workforce-intensive environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be someone who has personally managed HR operations for a sizeable blue-collar workforce, rather than someone whose experience is limited to corporate HR or recruitment.

Candidates with experience in manufacturing, facilities management, construction, logistics, retail operations, hospitality, warehouses, security services or other manpower-intensive industries will be preferred.
