We are looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer with hands-on experience in both Microsoft Azure and AWS to support and manage client infrastructure environments.
Role Overview
The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for managing, supporting, monitoring, and improving client cloud and infrastructure environments across Azure and AWS. This role is focused on day-to-day client infrastructure operations, cloud administration, incident resolution, change implementation, security hardening, backup monitoring, documentation, and infrastructure optimization.
The ideal candidate should be technically strong, customer-focused, proactive, and comfortable working in a managed services environment. The candidate must also be flexible to support clients during EST business hours and participate in planned maintenance or support activities when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support client cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Monitor client environments for availability, performance, security, backup status, and capacity.
- Troubleshoot cloud, server, network, storage, identity, and application infrastructure issues.
- Support incident management, service requests, change requests, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Configure and manage Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Azure Storage, App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Backup, Azure Monitor, Key Vault, Entra ID, and related services.
- Configure and manage AWS services such as EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, Load Balancers, Backup, and related services.
- Manage cloud networking including VNETs, VPCs, subnets, routing, VPN, NAT, DNS, firewalls, NSGs, security groups, private endpoints, and load balancers.
- Implement security best practices including IAM, RBAC, MFA, conditional access, least-privilege access, encryption, logging, and access reviews.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, patching, monitoring, and alerting activities.
- Assist with cloud migration, modernization, infrastructure optimization, and cost-control initiatives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, diagrams, support notes, and operational runbooks.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Azure CLI, AWS CLI, Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar tools.
- Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure reliable service delivery.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance, client support, and escalation activities as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, infrastructure support, system administration, or cloud engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Good hands-on experience with AWS.
- Experience managing client infrastructure or working in an MSP / managed services environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, server administration, storage, backup, monitoring, and security.
- Experience managing Windows and/or Linux servers.
- Experience with Azure Entra ID, AWS IAM, RBAC, MFA, access controls, and identity management.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Log Analytics, Application Insights, or similar platforms.
- Experience with backup, disaster recovery, patching, and infrastructure health checks.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues across cloud, server, network, identity, and application layers.
- Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Azure CLI, or AWS CLI.
- Ability to work during EST business hours and provide support based on client needs.
- Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-500.
- Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, including Compute Engine, VPC, Cloud Storage, IAM, Cloud SQL, Cloud Monitoring, and related services.
- AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate or AWS SysOps Administrator.
- Experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, CloudFormation, or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Defender, or Entra ID.
- Experience with containers, Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, or EKS.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, or Git-based workflows.
- Experience with databases such as Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or AWS RDS.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity, vulnerability remediation, endpoint management, or compliance requirements.
- Understanding of cloud cost optimization, governance, tagging, and resource management.
