Aagasa Services & Media Private Limited is building a technology-enabled local services ecosystem that connects customers, service vendors, delivery partners and business professionals through web and mobile platforms.
Our products include a local services marketplace, vendor business operating system, delivery and logistics solutions, digital advertising tools, print media services, background verification and other technology-driven business services.
We are looking for a hands-on and entrepreneurial Chief Technology Officer who can lead our technology strategy, build scalable products and develop a strong engineering team.
Role Overview
The Chief Technology Officer will be responsible for defining and executing the company’s technology vision. The CTO will work closely with the founders and leadership team to convert business ideas into scalable, secure and commercially viable technology products.
This is a hands-on leadership position suitable for someone who can balance product strategy, system architecture, software development, team management, security, infrastructure and business priorities.
Key Responsibilities Technology Strategy
- Define and execute the overall technology roadmap aligned with the company’s business goals.
- Evaluate new technologies, platforms and architecture decisions.
- Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Plan product development across web, mobile, backend and internal operational systems.
- Establish short-term and long-term technology priorities.
Product Development
- Lead the development of customer, vendor, delivery partner and administrative applications.
- Oversee the complete product development lifecycle, including planning, architecture, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
- Work with product, design, operations, sales and marketing teams to deliver customer-focused features.
- Ensure timely delivery of product milestones and releases.
- Build scalable systems capable of supporting multiple service categories, cities and user roles.
Technical Architecture
- Design and maintain scalable, modular and secure system architecture.
- Oversee backend services, APIs, databases, mobile applications, web applications and third-party integrations.
- Establish technical standards for code quality, documentation, testing and deployment.
- Review system performance, reliability and scalability.
- Make appropriate build-versus-buy decisions for technology components.
Engineering Leadership
- Recruit, mentor and manage software developers, designers, QA engineers, DevOps professionals and other technology team members.
- Define engineering processes, sprint planning, code reviews and release management practices.
- Build a performance-driven and collaborative engineering culture.
- Assign responsibilities, monitor progress and remove technical blockers.
- Conduct technical interviews and performance evaluations.
Infrastructure and DevOps
- Oversee cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, monitoring and disaster recovery.
- Implement CI/CD practices for web, mobile and backend applications.
- Ensure high availability, performance and cost-efficient cloud usage.
- Manage production, staging and development environments.
- Establish backup, recovery and incident-response procedures.
Data Security and Compliance
- Ensure data privacy, application security and secure access controls.
- Implement security best practices across applications, APIs, databases and infrastructure.
- Support compliance with applicable laws and standards, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
- Establish policies for data retention, encryption, authentication, authorisation and incident management.
- Conduct regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments.
Vendor and Technology Partner Management
- Evaluate and manage technology vendors, cloud providers, APIs and implementation partners.
- Review technical contracts, service-level agreements and integration requirements.
- Monitor third-party performance, security and cost.
- Coordinate with external development teams when required.
Business and Leadership Collaboration
- Work closely with the founders on product strategy, fundraising, budgeting and business expansion.
- Present technical plans, risks, costs and progress to management and investors.
- Support sales and partnership discussions requiring technical expertise.
- Prepare technology budgets and optimise development and infrastructure expenditure.
- Identify how technology can improve operational efficiency and revenue generation.
Preferred Technology Experience
Candidates should have strong experience in some or most of the following areas:
- Python and FastAPI
- JavaScript or TypeScript
- Nuxt.js, Vue.js or React
- React Native or other mobile application frameworks
- MongoDB and database architecture
- REST APIs and microservices
- Firebase Authentication and push notifications
- Cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Azure
- Docker, CI/CD and DevOps automation
- Payment gateway integrations
- Mapping, navigation and logistics systems
- Multi-tenant SaaS or marketplace platforms
- AI and automation integrations
- Data analytics and reporting systems
Knowledge of Razorpay, OpenStreetMap, Mappls, RabbitMQ, Cloudflare and Firebase will be an added advantage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of software engineering or technology experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in an engineering manager, technical architect, head of engineering or CTO-level role.
- Proven experience building and launching web or mobile products.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, databases, APIs, security and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience managing engineering teams and external technology partners.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Willingness to take ownership and remain hands-on when required.

- Quality of technical documentation and processes.
- Scalability of the platform across users, vendors and cities.
- Contribution to business growth and operational efficiency.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, technical capabilities and leadership background.
A performance-linked component, employee stock options or equity participation may be considered for exceptional candidates based on mutual agreement and long-term commitment.
