JMaintenance Executive – Electrician

Department: Maintenance
Designation: Maintenance Executive – Electrician
Reporting To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Head
Location: Plant / Manufacturing Unit

1. Job Purpose

To ensure smooth and reliable operation of electrical systems, machines, equipment, and utilities by carrying out preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance activities while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machines, equipment, panels, motors, and electrical systems.
Attend and resolve electrical breakdowns to minimize machine downtime and production loss.
Carry out Preventive Maintenance (PM) of electrical equipment as per the defined schedule.
Inspect and maintain control panels, MCC panels, DBs, motors, sensors, contactors, relays, MCBs, VFDs, starters, and cables.
Troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate testing instruments and tools.
Monitor electrical connections, wiring, earthing, and power supply systems.
Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, VFD, and machine control circuits as per requirement.
Support installation, commissioning, shifting, and modification of electrical equipment and machines.
Maintain proper records of breakdowns, preventive maintenance, spare parts, and maintenance activities.
Identify recurring electrical problems and implement corrective actions to prevent repetition.
Coordinate with production and other departments for planned maintenance activities.
Ensure availability and proper control of electrical spare parts, tools, and consumables.
Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and all electrical safety procedures before carrying out maintenance work.
Ensure proper housekeeping and safety standards in the maintenance area.
Support energy-saving initiatives and identify abnormal power consumption or electrical losses.
Assist during internal/external audits related to maintenance, safety, and electrical systems.
Ensure compliance with company safety rules, SOPs, work instructions, and applicable statutory requirements.

3. Required Skills

Good knowledge of industrial electrical systems and machine maintenance.
Knowledge of AC/DC motors, control panels, MCC, DB, VFD, PLC, sensors, contactors, relays, and starters.
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of electrical testing instruments such as multimeter, clamp meter, megger, and tester.
Basic knowledge of Preventive Maintenance and Breakdown Maintenance.
Knowledge of electrical safety, earthing, and LOTO procedures.
Good coordination and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and handle emergency breakdown situations.

4. Qualification & Experience

Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in industrial/manufacturing electrical maintenance.

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

Reduction in machine breakdown and downtime.
Preventive Maintenance completion as per schedule.
Breakdown response and resolution time.
Reduction in recurring electrical failures.
Electrical safety compliance.
Maintenance records and documentation accuracy.
Proper utilization and control of electrical spares.

6. Safety Responsibility

The employee shall strictly follow all electrical safety procedures, use required PPE, ensure proper isolation of electrical sources before maintenance, and immediately report any unsafe condition or electrical hazard to the concerned authority.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
