About the role

Search is moving. A growing share of the questions customers used to type into Google are now answered inside ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews — and those answers cite sources. We want our clients to be the source.

We're hiring a junior specialist to own that work: making websites legible and citable to AI engines, keeping traditional SEO fundamentals strong underneath, and writing the documentation that lets AI agents use our content correctly.

This is a fully remote, full-time role. We care more about what you have tested yourself than where you studied.

What you'll do

- Restructure pages so AI engines can extract and cite them: clear headings, direct answers up front, claims backed by verifiable sources.

- Handle the technical side: robots.txt and AI crawler access (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended), rendering, site architecture, internal linking, page speed.

- Implement structured data: schema markup, JSON-LD, entity consistency, llms.txt files.

- Track how often our brands get mentioned and cited across AI answers, and report on it monthly.

- Run core SEO alongside it: keyword research, technical audits, on-page work, Search Console and GA4.

- Build off-site authority where AI engines actually look — Reddit, YouTube, review sites, industry publications, directory listings.

- Write documentation for AI agents: structured knowledge bases, product and process docs, context files and MCP server descriptions that a machine can read and act on correctly.

- Prototype automations for the repetitive parts using MCP, n8n and AI coding tools.

What we're looking for

- 1-2 years of hands-on SEO, content or digital marketing experience — agency, in-house, freelance, or a site you built yourself and can show us.

- Solid technical SEO basics: crawling and indexing, schema, sitemaps, redirects, internal linking, page speed.

- A working understanding of how AI search picks its sources. You should be able to explain in plain English why ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews cite different pages for the same question.

- Comfortable in Google Search Console and GA4.

- Strong written English. This role is roughly half writing, for humans and for machines.

- Daily practical use of AI tools, as a work habit rather than a novelty.

Bonus points

- Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol). You do not need to have built a server, but you should know what it is and have connected one.

- A feel for SEO history: Panda, Penguin, Hummingbird, BERT, helpful content, the move to entities. Knowing why those updates happened is the best preparation for what AI search rewards next.

- Reading HTML and JSON-LD, editing WordPress or WooCommerce, running a script, basic Git.

- Automation tools (n8n, Zapier, Make) or LLM APIs.

- Published writing, a newsletter, a GitHub profile or an SEO teardown we can read.
