Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning, organizing, and supervising daily kitchen operations.
Prepare and oversee the production of nutritious, balanced, and high-quality meals in accordance with approved menus.
Supervise Chef de Parties, Commis Chefs, and kitchen assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
Ensure compliance with FSSAI food safety regulations, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Monitor food preparation processes to minimize wastage and optimize resource utilization.
Manage inventory, stock rotation (FIFO), and storage of food items.
Coordinate with the procurement and stores team to ensure timely availability of ingredients and supplies.
Conduct quality checks on raw materials and finished food products.
Assist in menu planning, recipe standardization, and cost control.
Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards.
Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work areas.
Support catering requirements for school events, meetings, and special functions.
Act as the Head Chef in their absence and ensure uninterrupted kitchen operations.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
5–8 years of relevant culinary experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role such as Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie.
Experience in schools, institutional kitchens, hotels or large-scale catering operations is preferred.
Food Safety and Hygiene Certification is preferred.
