Account Manager – Digital Marketing

Location: Ahmedabad / Remote – India

Experience Required: 4+ Years

About the Role

As an Account Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for your assigned clients and will act as the bridge between Australian clients and our internal delivery teams. You will manage a portfolio of approximately 30–40+ active clients, understand their business objectives, coordinate SEO, Paid Media, Website, Content and other digital marketing activities, and ensure clients receive clear communication and measurable value. Success in this role is measured through client retention, account growth, client satisfaction, service delivery, and strong account management discipline.

Key Responsibilities

Client Portfolio Management

Manage a portfolio of approximately 30–40+ active digital marketing clients.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with business owners and key decision-makers.
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
Conduct client onboarding, monthly strategy meetings, campaign review meetings and regular account check-ins.
Understand each client's business, goals, target audience, competitors and marketing objectives.
Ensure clients clearly understand campaign performance, deliverables, priorities and next steps.
Proactively communicate updates rather than waiting for clients to follow up.

Client Success & Retention

Take ownership of client satisfaction and overall account health.
Monitor accounts for potential dissatisfaction, performance concerns or churn risks.

Identify at-risk clients early and work with internal teams to develop recovery plans.

Handle client concerns and escalations professionally and efficiently.
Ensure agreed deliverables and timelines are being met.
Maintain strong relationships even when campaign performance is below expectations.
Focus on providing strategic value rather than acting only as a communication coordinator.

Account Growth

Identify genuine upsell and cross-sell opportunities based on client business needs.

Confidently discuss and recommend services including SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Local SEO, Website

Development, CRO, AEO/GEO, Social Media Marketing, and AI-powered marketing solutions.

Develop account growth opportunities in collaboration with internal specialists.
Contribute to increasing recurring revenue from existing clients.

Identify opportunities for client referrals, Google Reviews, testimonials and case studies.

Digital Marketing Strategy & Coordination

Develop a strong understanding of the client's overall digital marketing strategy.
Review campaign performance, reports and recommendations before presenting them to clients.
Understand key digital marketing metrics and explain performance in simple business terms.
Coordinate with SEO, Paid Media, Website Development, Design and Content teams.
Ensure internal teams understand client objectives, priorities, deadlines and expectations.
Challenge recommendations where necessary and ensure proposed activities align with client goals.

Service Delivery & Internal Collaboration

Act as the communication bridge between Australian clients and offshore delivery teams.
Follow up with internal teams to ensure tasks and deliverables progress as planned.

Identify delivery issues before they become client-facing problems.

Maintain clear action items, responsibilities and deadlines after client meetings.
Escalate critical delivery or performance issues to management when required.
Work collaboratively with specialists rather than attempting to personally execute every technical task.

Account Management & Operational Excellence

Maintain accurate client records, meeting notes, action items and follow-ups in the CRM.
Keep account information, client expectations and deliverables up to date.
Follow established account management processes.
Prepare effectively for client meetings and ensure every meeting has clear outcomes.
Maintain professional documentation and communication across all client interactions.
Continuously identify ways to improve client experience, account efficiency and retention.

What We're Looking For

Minimum 4+ years of digital marketing agency account management experience.
Proven experience managing multiple clients simultaneously within an agency environment.
Experience working with Australian business clients is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of digital marketing services, particularly SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, AEO/GEO, Local SEO,

Website Development and Social Media Marketing.

Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and retaining accounts.
Proven ability to identify and convert genuine upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of recurring revenue.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Ability to confidently handle difficult client conversations and escalations.
Strong organisational and project management skills.
Ability to coordinate multiple internal teams and keep projects moving.
Comfortable working with Australian clients and offshore delivery teams.
Self-motivated, proactive and accountable for client outcomes.
Ability to understand digital marketing performance and translate it into clear business-focused communication.
