About Optimite

Optimite is a retention marketing agency for ecommerce brands. We build email, SMS, lifecycle, loyalty, and list growth programs as one connected system. Our work is focused on turning one-time buyers into repeat customers and driving consistent revenue through retention. We don’t operate like a typical agency that delivers one-off campaigns. We function as a retention partner, building and managing systems that run continuously and improve over time.

Location: India (Remote)

Work Timings: 10am - 7pm IST or 1pm - 10pm IST depending on the role

Working Days: Monday to Friday, with 2 alternate Saturdays working. The 5th Saturday of the month will be a working day

About the Role

We’re looking for an Email Marketing Strategist with deep ecommerce and retention marketing experience, someone who understands the D2C customer journey end-to-end and can drive measurable growth through email and SMS strategies. This role requires a mix of strategy, execution, and analytics translating brand goals into actionable lifecycle plans while ensuring seamless delivery with creative and client teams.

What will you do?

You’ll own lifecycle strategy and execution across multiple ecommerce brands developing campaigns, flows, and retention programs that boost repeat purchases, engagement, and customer lifetime value.

Campaign & Flow Execution (35%)

Build, schedule, and deploy email and SMS campaigns and automated flows inside Klaviyo or similar ESPs.
Maintain strong deliverability and error-free execution across all accounts.
Follow standardized naming conventions, tagging, and audience segmentation best practices.
Conduct test sends, fix rendering issues, and ensure accurate UTM parameters before every launch.
Collaborate with designers and copywriters to ensure creative and copy align with campaign objectives.
Metrics you’ll own:
- % of campaigns and flows launched without post-send fixes (links, UTMs, rendering, segmentation).
- % of campaigns and flows launched within committed timelines.
- Bounce rate, spam complaints, and execution-related inboxing issues attributable to setup.

Retention & Lifecycle Strategy (35%)

Develop retention and reactivation strategies — including welcome, win-back, post-purchase, and loyalty flows.
Identify lifecycle touchpoints and recommend segmentation and personalization strategies to maximize engagement and revenue.
Partner with brand and creative teams to design data-backed customer journeys for repeat purchases.
Strategize and implement SMS, loyalty, referral, and subscription programs to deepen customer relationships.
Metrics you’ll own:
- % of total email/SMS revenue driven by automated lifecycle flows.
- Improvement in open rate, CTR, or CVR for core flows (welcome, post-purchase, win-back).
- Increase in repeat orders or reactivated users tied to lifecycle programs.

Reporting & Optimization (30%)

Track and report campaign and flow performance - open rates, CTR, CVR, revenue, deliverability, and retention KPIs.
Identify patterns, test hypotheses (A/B testing), and continuously optimize messaging, design, and frequency.
Share actionable insights and data-backed recommendations with brand strategists and client success teams.
Maintain clean, well-structured flows and high data integrity across all client accounts.
Metrics you’ll own:
- Number of meaningful tests (A/B or multivariate) run per month.
- % of tests that result in statistically meaningful improvements.
- % of data-backed recommendations implemented by brand or strategy teams.

Must Have

2- 4 years of experience in ecommerce lifecycle or retention marketing (email + SMS).
Hands-on experience with Klaviyo (required); experience with HubSpot, Braze, Iterable, or ActiveCampaign is a plus.
Strong understanding of D2C customer lifecycle, segmentation, and personalization.
Proven ability to manage multiple ecommerce brands simultaneously.
Excellent attention to detail with strong ownership mindset.
Analytical skills to interpret campaign performance and make data-driven decisions.
Strong communication and project management skills for cross-functional coordination.

Good to have

Experience with Shopify or other ecommerce platforms.
Basic HTML knowledge for troubleshooting.
Understanding of loyalty, subscription, and referral program mechanics.
Background in 6- to 8-figure D2C brand strategy or agency experience.
