Business Development Executive / Manager – International Sales

Ready-to-Eat Meals | FMCG Foods | Export Markets

Industry: FMCG – Ready-to-Eat / Shelf-Stable Foods

Role Purpose

To develop and grow Regal Kitchen Foods' international business for Ready-to-Eat Indian ethnic meals and shelf-stable food products by identifying, appointing and managing importers, distributors, wholesalers, retail buyers and private-label customers across international markets.

The role requires a commercially aggressive sales professional with mandatory FMCG/Food sales experience and proven exposure to international business development.

Key Responsibilities

Develop international sales for RTE Indian meals, curries, rice meals, gravies, plant-based meals and other ambient/shelf-stable food products.
Identify and acquire importers, distributors, wholesalers, supermarket buyers, foodservice customers and private-label partners.
Generate qualified international leads through market research, trade databases, exhibitions, LinkedIn, industry networks and direct outreach.
Open new countries and establish distributor networks in target markets.
Manage the complete sales cycle:

Lead Generation → Qualification → Sampling → Commercial Negotiation → Order Closure → Repeat Business.

Build strong relationships with international distributors and key accounts.
Develop country-wise GTM/RTM plans, channel strategy and distributor appointment plans.
Negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms, distributor margins, promotional support and commercial agreements.
Work towards assigned monthly/quarterly export revenue and new-account targets.
Drive repeat orders, account penetration and SKU expansion within existing customers.
Conduct competitor benchmarking covering products, pricing, pack sizes, claims and retailer presence.
Coordinate with R&D, production, QA, regulatory, packaging, supply chain and logistics teams for customer requirements.
Support country-specific product registration, labelling and packaging compliance in coordination with internal teams.
Participate in international exhibitions and buyer meetings such as Gulfood, SIAL, Anuga, IndusFood and other relevant food exhibitions.
Maintain accurate sales pipeline, forecasts, customer MIS and follow-up tracker.
Monitor distributor performance, inventory movement, sales velocity and market development activities.

The distributor-building and multi-channel approach is particularly relevant from the attached profile, which includes opening new markets and managing General Trade, Modern Trade, Institutional and international e-commerce channels.

Mandatory Candidate Profile

Must Have:

Graduate / MBA in Marketing, International Business or related discipline.
Minimum 3–7 years of B2B sales/business development experience.
FMCG sales experience is mandatory.
Experience dealing with international importers/distributors.
Proven ability to generate and convert new business.
Understanding of export pricing, margins, MOQs and commercial negotiations.
Strong written and verbal English communication.
Comfortable with international calls, virtual buyer meetings and overseas travel.

Preferred International Market Exposure

Candidates having sales exposure in one or more of the following will be preferred:
