About the Role

SourceLift Media & IT Solutions is looking for a creative, trend-savvy and strategically minded Content & Social Media Strategist to develop content that gets attention, builds brands and drives results.

This role sits at the intersection of content, social media and creative strategy.

You’ll be responsible for understanding brands and their audiences, researching trends, developing content ideas, planning social media strategies and working with our creative team to bring those ideas to life.

We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just ask “What should we post?”, but also “Why will this work?”

If you’re constantly noticing interesting Reels, campaigns, trends, hooks and brand ideas—and immediately thinking about how they could be made better—this role could be a great fit.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy

* Develop and execute social media strategies for SourceLift’s clients across relevant platforms.

* Build platform-specific strategies for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and other channels.

* Define content pillars, communication themes, formats and posting strategies.

* Develop monthly content calendars and campaign plans.

* Plan and manage daily Instagram Stories and other platform-specific content.

* Ensure consistent brand voice, visual direction and communication across platforms.

Content Strategy & Ideation

* Generate fresh and engaging content ideas for social media, campaigns and digital platforms.

* Develop concepts for Instagram Reels, carousels, static posts, Stories, short-form videos and campaigns.

* Create content hooks, storytelling angles, captions and creative concepts.

* Turn brand objectives into interesting and relatable content.

* Develop content around educational, entertaining, promotional, cultural and trend-led formats.

* Think beyond generic content and identify ideas that can help brands stand out.

Creative Strategy

* Translate client objectives into clear creative directions and content strategies.

* Develop creative concepts and campaign territories based on audience insights.

* Identify the big idea, message, hook and creative approach behind campaigns.

* Work with designers, video editors, photographers and other creatives to execute ideas.

* Create creative briefs that clearly communicate the objective, audience, insight, idea and execution.

* Contribute to creative pitches, campaign presentations and client presentations.

* Challenge conventional ideas and bring fresh creative thinking to client projects.

Social Media & Trend Research

* Stay constantly updated with Instagram trends, Reels formats, viral content, memes, creators, audio trends and emerging content formats.

* Research competitor pages and identify content opportunities and gaps.

* Study high-performing content to understand what makes it engaging.

* Track audience behaviour, cultural conversations and relevant trends.

* Build a strong library of references, trends, hooks, formats and creative inspiration.

* Identify trends that can be adapted to different brands without compromising their identity.

* Regularly bring new content and campaign ideas to the team.

Content Creation

* Write social media captions, hooks, headlines, scripts and short-form copy.

* Develop Reel concepts and basic scripts.

* Contribute to Story ideas and interactive content.

* Be comfortable appearing in front of the camera for Reels and social content when required.

* Shoot simple social media content when required using a smartphone.

* Assist with basic video editing and content adaptation when needed.

Influencer & Creator Collaborations

* Research relevant influencers and content creators for client campaigns.

* Identify creators based on audience, content style, relevance and brand fit.

* Assist with influencer outreach, coordination and campaign execution.

* Develop content briefs for influencer collaborations.

* Track influencer content performance and identify opportunities for future collaborations.

Content Shoots

* Assist in planning and coordinating photoshoots and video shoots.

* Develop shoot concepts, references, moodboards and content requirements.

* Coordinate with photographers, videographers, models, creators and internal teams.

* Ensure the required content is captured according to the creative direction.

Analytics & Optimization

* Monitor social media performance and content metrics.

* Analyse reach, engagement, views, saves, shares and other relevant metrics.

* Identify patterns in high-performing content.

* Use insights to improve future content and creative strategies.

* Prepare basic content performance reports and recommendations.

Requirements

* 1–3 years of experience in Content Marketing, Social Media, Creative Strategy or a similar role.

* Strong understanding of Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook and LinkedIn.

* Strong knowledge of current social media trends and content formats.

* Excellent creative thinking, ideation and storytelling skills.

* Strong copywriting skills.

* Understanding of branding and digital communication.

* Ability to research competitors, audiences, trends and content opportunities.

* Comfortable appearing on camera and creating relatable social content.

* Ability to develop content calendars and manage multiple content requirements.

* Strong communication and presentation skills.

* Highly organised, proactive and deadline-oriented.

* Comfortable working with designers, video editors, photographers and marketers.

* Ability to understand a brief and independently develop creative directions.

* Experience working with multiple brands or agencies.

* Experience in fashion, lifestyle, D2C, real estate, hospitality, food, technology or other consumer-facing brands.

* Experience handling influencer and creator collaborations.

* Basic video shooting and editing skills.

* Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Figma or similar tools.

* Familiarity with AI tools for content research, ideation, scripting and creative development.

* Basic understanding of social media analytics and performance marketing.

* Experience developing creative decks or campaign presentations.
