Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Banquet Sales Manager to drive sales and manage banquet and event bookings. The role involves generating new business, handling client enquiries, conducting venue visits, preparing proposals and quotations, negotiating packages, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure successful execution of events.

The ideal candidate should have strong sales, negotiation, communication, and client-management skills, along with a good understanding of weddings, corporate events, social functions, and banquet operations.

Key Responsibilities

Generate and convert leads for weddings, receptions, corporate events, conferences, parties, and social functions.
Handle enquiries through calls, walk-ins, references, digital leads, and business networks.
Conduct venue tours and present banquet facilities, packages, menus, and event services.
Understand client requirements, budget, guest count, event dates, and preferences.
Prepare and present customized quotations, proposals, and event packages.
Negotiate pricing and packages while maintaining company profitability.
Follow up consistently with prospective clients and convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.
Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Develop business through wedding planners, event agencies, corporates, travel companies, and other relevant partners.
Coordinate with the operations, F&B, kitchen, décor, housekeeping, and accounts teams for event requirements.
Ensure all client commitments and event details are properly communicated to the concerned departments.
Monitor event bookings, advance payments, contracts, and outstanding balances.
Handle client concerns professionally and ensure timely resolution.
Maintain an updated database of leads, enquiries, bookings, and client interactions.
Prepare regular sales reports and provide updates on targets and revenue.
Monitor competitor pricing, market trends, and new business opportunities.
Participate in exhibitions, wedding fairs, networking events, and promotional activities.
Achieve monthly and annual banquet sales targets.

Sales & Business Development

Develop and implement strategies to increase banquet revenue.
Identify new corporate and social-event clients.
Build referral networks with wedding planners, decorators, photographers, event agencies, and other vendors.
Upsell additional services such as food packages, décor, rooms, AV equipment, and other event requirements.
Maximize venue occupancy and revenue during peak and non-peak periods.

Required Skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong sales and negotiation abilities.
Excellent client relationship management skills.
Strong knowledge of banquet and event sales.
Good understanding of wedding and corporate event requirements.
Strong follow-up and lead-conversion skills.
Ability to meet sales targets and work under pressure.
Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong coordination and team-management abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/sales software.

Qualifications & Experience

Graduate in Hospitality Management, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
3–6 years of experience in banquet sales, hotel sales, event sales, or hospitality sales.
Experience handling high-value weddings and corporate events will be an advantage.

Monthly banquet sales and revenue.
Number of new bookings generated.
Lead-to-booking conversion rate.
Average booking value.
New client acquisition.
Repeat and referral business.
Venue occupancy and revenue generation.
Client satisfaction.
Timely collection of payments.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be confident, well-presented, target-oriented, persuasive, and highly organized, with a passion for hospitality and events. They should be comfortable meeting clients, conducting venue tours, negotiating deals, and coordinating multiple events simultaneously.
