Primary Objective -
Support and coordinate all preconstruction activities for ongoing projects, ensuring smooth execution of design, permitting, and consultant coordination, while maintaining schedule, documentation, and alignment across teams.
Role Overview
This is a Design & Preconstruction Coordination role supporting US-based construction projects.
The position focuses on consultant coordination, drawing review, permitting support, project tracking, document management, and stakeholder communication. You will work closely with architects, engineers, permitting consultants, BIM teams, production teams, and project managers to ensure projects progress smoothly from design through permitting and preconstruction.
This is NOT a site execution or construction supervision role.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate design, permitting, and preconstruction activities across multiple projects
- Serve as the primary coordination point between internal teams and external consultants
- Review and track architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawing submissions
- Maintain project trackers for RFIs, submittals, permits, approvals, and design revisions
- Follow up with consultants, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure timely progress
- Assist with preparation and submission of permit packages and supporting documentation
- Track plan review comments and coordinate responses for resubmissions
- Coordinate design changes and maintain project documentation Prepare weekly project status reports and progress updates
- Participate in consultant coordination meetings and document action items
- Support value engineering and design option evaluations
- Coordinate with engineering, costing, BIM, and production teams
- Support project planning and early-stage feasibility activities
- Assist in identifying project risks, bottlenecks, and coordination gaps
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
- 2-5 years of experience in design coordination, BIM coordination, architecture, engineering consulting, permitting, project controls, PMO, or preconstruction functions.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project tracking abilities
- Proficiency in Excel and digital collaboration tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with US projects or international projects
- Exposure to permitting, approvals, or consultant coordination
- Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM workflows
- Experience in modular construction, prefabrication, or design-build environments
- Familiarity with project management and document control processes

AI & Digital Workflow Proficiency -
Strong familiarity with AI tools for research such as ChatGPT and Claude is required, including effective use of prompt engineering to support documentation, coordination, tracking, and communication workflows; the candidate is expected to actively use AI tools to improve efficiency and project execution.
