Full job description

Overview:

We are seeking a VDC Specialist, a professional who utilizes digital modeling tools and workflows to improve the planning, design, and execution of AEC projects. Developing and sustaining comprehensive 3D models across multiple fields, including MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), structural, and architectural systems.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Develop technology execution strategy aligned with project proposals and staffing estimates.
Author, implement, and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BxP).
Develop BIM documentation and enforce workflow process standards.
Ensure proper project closeout.
Train and support project teams to maintain BIM standards within the modeling environment.
Facilitate BIM meetings and conduct training sessions.
Maintain relationships with Clients, AE, Trade, and GC partners.
Mentor BIM Specialists (Level I–III).

BIM & Project Management

Configure and manage CDE, including permissions for design software.
Set up or delegate building models/templates as per company/client standards.
Enforce clash detection and resolution processes across disciplines.
Perform model audits and health checks across projects.
Ensure coordination across multiple stakeholders and disciplines.

Automation & Innovation

Create automation workflows and data extraction processes to reduce manual work.
Research new tools, applications, and workflows.
Test and implement software upgrades.
Develop and manage software automations, including SSOE library automations.
Leverage AI and digital technologies for improved efficiency.

Technical Skills

Perform advanced functions in design software.
Set up and maintain accurate project coordinates.
Ensure interoperability between design and analysis software.
Collaborate with teams for integration with analysis tools.
Troubleshoot design software issues and evaluate new workflows.

Content & Library Management

Manage content libraries and templates.
Create families as required.
Manage shared parameters and standards.

Work timings– Morning 08.00am to 12noon IST and evening 08.00pm to 12:00am IST.

Qualifications:

What will you bring?

Bachelor's degree in Architecture/ Engineering or equivalent Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of BIM or 3D CAD work experience in professional firm setting desired.
Advanced capability with two or more VDC/BIM model authoring software, such as but not limited to: Revit, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Inventor, etc.
Capability with VDC applications software, such as: Navisworks Manage, ReCap, Autodesk Application Plugins (i.e. IDEATE BimLink or Model Explorer), etc.
Skill with associated software: Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), BlueBeam, or SharePoint.
Demonstrated understanding of software/API customization is desired.
Communication and facilitation in a team/client/group setting, including effective meeting planning and presentation is required, along with knowledge and understanding of design and construction process.
Understanding of various project delivery methods, Lean construction and Concurrent Engineering concepts are desired.
Should be able to work during late evening hours to coordinate with the international offices.
Excellent English communication skills.
