Job Description
External Financial Reporting Prepare and review financial statements, notes, and disclosures required for statutory and regulatory filings. Ensure all reporting complies with applicable accounting frameworks (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP, local GAAP). Coordinate the preparation of quarterly, half-yearly, and annual external reports, including shareholder and investor documents. 2. Month-End & Year-End Close Support Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities with a focus on external reporting deliverables. Ensure financial data from general ledger and sub-ledgers aligns with reporting requirements. 3. Regulatory Compliance Monitor changes in financial reporting standards and regulations; ensure compliance and implement necessary updates. Liaise with regulatory bodies, stock exchanges, or statutory agencies as required. 4. Audit & Assurance Support Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors during statutory audits. Prepare audit schedules, respond to audit queries, and ensure audit findings are addressed promptly. Manage SOX (or equivalent) controls related to financial reporting. 5. Governance & Risk Management Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data disclosed to external stakeholders. Maintain robust documentation, audit trails, and evidence to support disclosures and financial statements. Proactively identify reporting risks and support mitigation strategies. 6. Stakeholder Management Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Controllership, and Legal to gather inputs and validate disclosures. Present reports and insights to senior leadership and Board-level committees where required. 7. Process Improvement & Standardization Streamline and improve external reporting processes using automation tools and best practices. Drive the adoption of new technologies (e.g., disclosure management tools) to enhance report quality and efficiency. Document and update policies and procedures related to external reporting. 8. Team Leadership (for Senior Manager level) Lead and mentor a team of specialists or analysts responsible for external reporting tasks. Allocate responsibilities, conduct performance reviews, and drive team development initiatives.
