Purpose of the Job
The Technology Analyst, Renewables (Market Intelligence) is responsible for translating renewable energy technology developments into actionable market intelligence. This role focuses on
technology-driven insights across the solar PV and energy storage value chain, supporting
developers, EPCs, investors, lenders, and procurement teams with clear interpretation of
innovation, performance limits, cost impacts, and bankability considerations. This role contributes
directly to STS Market Intelligence products, ensuring that technology trends are connected to
pricing, supply chain dynamics, procurement decisions, and investment risk.
Key Responsibilities
Key Result Area (KRA) Tasks
Technology intelligence
- Monitor technology trends across solar modules, cells, wafers, inverters, storage systems, and emerging innovations.
- Translate technical developments into market-relevant insights, highlighting implications for cost, performance, adoption, and risk.
- Distinguish real technology progress from marketing claims, identifying technical limitations and failure modes.
Research, Benchmarking & Analysis
- Conduct structured research on technology performance, reliability, and innovation roadmaps across the value chain.
- Support the development of benchmarks and comparative assessments of products, suppliers, and emerging solutions.
- Contribute analytical inputs on technical risks, limitations, and bankability considerations.
Data & Knowledge Management
- Maintain structured datasets and technology reference materials to support ongoing analysis and reporting.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency of assumptions used in technology assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, quality control, and analytical outputs.
Report Writing & Content Development
- Draft high-quality technology-focused reports, briefings, and thought leadership content for internal and external audiences.
- Support recurring market intelligence publications with technology sections and commentary.
- Present findings in a clear and structured manner, tailored to clients, investors, and commercial stakeholders.
Support to Business Units and Clients
- Provide technical and analytical support to client advisory engagements and renewable energy project discussions.
- Respond to client inquiries with expert interpretation of technology trends and performance expectations.
- Assist in preparing presentations, webinars, and workshops on technology-related topics.
Execution of Services
- Conduct technology analysis, draft and publish reports related to the renewables sector.
- Publish market news and reports on company-supported applications.
- Organize and present at webinars and conferences.
- Present research and reports to clients, in situ or remotely.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges during project implementation. Provide expert advice to clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team to assemble relevant data and prepare leading technology analysis reports.
- Conduct trainings to clients related to renewables technology trends.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of services, adhering to industry standards and client requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless service execution.
Market Studies and Benchmarking
- Conduct detailed industry and market studies, including benchmarking and comparative analysis.
- Stay updated on industry trends, innovations, and advancements in the renewables sector.
- Maintain databases of renewables companies.
Service Quality & Professional Standards
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality technology intelligence products and advisory support.
- Uphold principles of impartiality, confidentiality, and professional integrity in all work performed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client data, findings, and sensitive information.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of service methodologies and analytical capabilities.
After-Sales Technical Support
- Provide high-quality technical support and advisory postdelivery.
Reporting and Communication
- Track project changes or deviations from original project plans, providing justification and proposing adequate solutions.
- Log all activities in the company database to ensure project and activity status tracking.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication of progress on projects
- Keep record of working time for time management and analysis purpose.
- Support the preparation of project progress reports.
Subject Matter Expertise
- Act as a subject-matter expert within the Business Unit, providing expert guidance on the related services.
- Stay updated on trends and changes in renewables and beyond, and ensure the service line remains at the forefront of capabilities and technologies.
- Support pre-sales and client-facing teams by providing expert insights during project scoping, feasibility assessments, and solution development.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and with key clients, positioning the BU as a leader in the renewables sector.

- Take part in strategic initiatives and OKR projects to support the deployment of the company’s strategic plan.
Health and Safety
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the workplace
- Identify and report potential risks to both supervisor/manager and health and safety officer
- Wear adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for specific job tasks or work locations, such as uniform, safety helmet, gloves, goggles, or respiratory protection equipment
- Dispose of waste in designated containers and areas to prevent contamination and health risks

Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics or related field.
Diplomas and Certificates
- Certifications in Financial Analysis or equivalent preferred.
Specialization

Language Proficiency
- Proficient in English, advanced level equivalent to C1 Level (operational proficiency), with strong writing capability.
