Job Description

Designation -Sr Executive / AM -Accounts, Taxation & Compliance
Reporting to - Manager - Accounts and Taxation
Education Background -B.Com / Masters / Inter - CA/CS/CMA
Work Experience (years) - 5-6 years
Location - Mahape, Navi Mumbai

What’s the purpose of this role?

Drive timely and accurate monthly book closing and consolidation enabling reliable MIS, budgets and forecasts for the leadership team
Ensure 100% statutory compliance across GST, TDS, PF/PT/ESIC, ROC, RBI and Income Tax with zero interest / penalty exposure
Execute all statutory audits (Statutory, Tax, Transfer Pricing, GST) end-to-end and drive closure of open departmental notices within committed timeframes
Build checklists, systems and automations that make closing and compliance faster, more accurate and repeatable year-on-year

Results and Activities

1. Timely Monthly Book Closing, Consolidation & MIS

1. Deliver timely & accurate monthly books closing covering ledger scrutiny, consolidation & notes.

2. Ensure all the control points & monthly closing checks are adhered to for accuracy and efficiency.

3. Remain up-to-date on best practices in accounting, finance, business systems and internal control measure decision making.

4. Prepare monthly management reports with analysis and insights for decision-making.

5. Prepare data for budget & forecast review, support variance analysis with the Finance team.

6. Prepare, update & review weekly & Monthly corporate MIS.

2. Statutory Compliance & Payroll Processing

1. Ensure 100% accurate, on time and penalty-free statutory compliance for both Indian and UAE entities.

2. Complete monthly & quarterly working, payment and return filing across TDS, GST, PF, PT, ESIC, MLWF, NPS, UAE VAT / VAT refunds.

3. Review salary working - Bhatta, Bonus, BPB, F&F working and upload payments on bank portal. Post salary and statutory entries in SAP.

4. Maintain and control master data creation in SAP; keep all ledgers and journals current.

5. Own Inventory & Fixed Asset register, handle quarterly verification, report finalisation & sale / scrap / write-off entries.

6. Handle auditor, vendor, customer and internal stakeholder queries in a timely manner.

3. Annual Compliances, Audits & Assessments

1.Complete all Annual audits & compliances within due dates - Statutory Audit, Tax Audit, Transfer Pricing Audit and GST Audit.

2. Complete all annual filings, payments and workings - ROC, RBI FLA & ODI, SFT, Advance Tax, ITR & Shares Buyback.

3. Prepare workings,responses and coordinate with consultants to close department notices and assessments within timelines.

4. Automation, Process Improvement & Team Development

1. Build checklists, SOPs and automations for closing, compliance and reporting workflows

2. Drive improvements to reduce manual effort in reconciliation, filings and MIS

3. Partner with SAP Consultants, other internal functions & achieve system improvements and SAP-related enhancements

4. Guide and review work of Executive; ensure quality, timeliness and skill development

Knowledge/Skills/Behaviors

1. Knowledge (Functional and Non-Technical):

Strong understanding of accounting: Payable/receivable, Bank reconciliation, Book Closing. (M)
4–6 years hands-on experience in handling statutory compliance & Notices.(M)
Experience of handling at least 1-2 members.(N)

2. Skills (Functional and Non-Technical):

Organized, process oriented with strong planning, project management & execution skills.(M)
High level of attention to detail(M)
Working with large data on spreadsheets - using formulae, analyzing and interpreting numbers to draw trends.(M)

Should be good with logical and quantitative abilities to derive information from data. (M)
