Experience: 2–5 years in retail, café, food & beverage, hospitality, or a similar customer-facing business

About M&N Chocolates

M&N Chocolates is a premium chocolate brand based in the Nilgiris, offering handcrafted chocolates, chocolate experiences, café products, and a visitor-focused chocolate experience.

We are looking for an energetic and responsible ASM to take ownership of our day-to-day store operations and deliver an excellent customer experience.

Job ResponsibilitiesStore Operations

Take complete responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of the store.
Ensure the store is clean, organised, attractive, and ready for customers at all times.
Open and close the store according to company procedures.
Monitor daily sales, cash handling, billing, and end-of-day reconciliation.
Ensure all company policies and operating procedures are followed.

Sales & Customer Experience

Drive daily sales and achieve monthly sales targets.
Welcome customers and ensure excellent customer service.
Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable chocolates and products.
Encourage upselling and cross-selling of chocolates, gift packs, beverages, and other products.
Handle customer complaints professionally and ensure quick resolution.
Collect customer feedback and communicate important feedback to management.

Inventory & Stock Management

Maintain accurate stock levels for chocolates, packaging materials, beverages, and other store products.
Conduct regular stock checks and physical inventory.
Monitor expiry dates, product quality, wastage, damages, and stock movements.
Coordinate replenishment with the production/procurement team.
Maintain proper records of inward and outward stock.
Minimise stock losses and wastage.

Staff Management

Supervise, guide, and motivate store staff.
Prepare staff duties and daily responsibilities.
Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming, and performance.
Train staff on product knowledge, customer service, sales techniques, hygiene, and store procedures.
Ensure adequate staffing during weekends, holidays, and peak tourist periods.
Build a positive and disciplined working environment.

Café / Visitor Experience

Coordinate with the café and visitor experience teams to ensure smooth customer flow.
Maintain high standards of presentation and hospitality.
Ensure visitors receive a memorable experience at M&N Chocolates.
Support special events, group visits, workshops, and promotional activities when required.

Reporting & Administration

Prepare daily sales and operational reports.
Monitor sales performance against targets.
Maintain records of stock, cash, staff attendance, customer feedback, and operational issues.
Report important issues immediately to management.
Coordinate with production, purchase, accounts, marketing, and management teams.

Requirements

2–5 years of experience in store management, retail, café, hospitality, food & beverage, or a similar role.
Strong customer-service and communication skills.
Good leadership and team-management abilities.
Basic knowledge of inventory and stock control.
Ability to handle cash, billing, and daily sales reporting.
Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced customer-facing environment.
Willingness to work weekends and holidays, particularly during tourist seasons.
Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with POS/billing systems is preferred.
Knowledge of chocolates, food products, café operations, or hospitality will be an advantage.
