You will work on live client projects from day one — not internal demos or test environments.
Role Summary
We are looking for a Full Stack Web Developer who is genuinely comfortable on both sides of the stack — WordPress and PHP on the backend, and React/Next.js with clean HTML/CSS/JS on the frontend. You are not a specialist in one area. You are an agency developer who moves fluidly across stacks, picks up existing codebases quickly, and delivers without constant supervision.
This is an agency role. You will work across multiple client accounts simultaneously, each with its own stack, design system, and pace. The ability to context-switch, read existing code fast, and deliver clean work under real-world constraints matters more here than depth in any single framework.
What You Will Do
WordPress & PHP Backend/ Python
- Build and maintain WordPress websites — custom themes, child themes, and ACF-driven templates
- Write custom PHP for theme functions, hooks, filters, and plugin extensions
- Develop and configure plugins, contact forms, CRM integrations, and REST API connections
- Work with page builders — Elementor, Bricks, Breakdance — including custom CSS and dynamic data
- Basic Python scripting for automation, data processing, or server-side utilities
React & Next.js Frontend
- Build React components and Next.js pages for headless or hybrid CMS setups
- Consume REST and GraphQL APIs and render data cleanly on the frontend
- Manage routing, state, and data fetching in Next.js (SSR, SSG, and ISR as appropriate)
- Convert Figma designs into responsive, production-ready React components
HTML / CSS / JavaScript
- Write semantic, accessible HTML and clean, maintainable CSS from scratch when needed
- Build responsive layouts across breakpoints without relying on builders
- Write vanilla JavaScript for custom interactions, DOM manipulation, and API calls
- Optimise frontend performance — Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, asset compression
Hosting, Domains & Infrastructure
- Set up and manage hosting environments — cPanel, Kinsta, Digital Ocean, OVH
- Configure domains, DNS records, SSL certificates, and email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Set up staging environments, deployment workflows, and backup verification
- Apply security best practices — HTTP headers, file permissions, malware scanning
Figma to Web
- Convert Figma designs into accurate, pixel-aligned web pages independently
- Identify design inconsistencies or implementation gaps and flag them proactively
AI & Productivity
- Use AI tools — Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar — actively in your daily workflow
- Apply AI-assisted development for code generation, debugging, and documentation tasks
- Stay current with tools and techniques relevant to agency web development
- Manage WordPress databases, migrations, and staging-to-production deployments
- Implement security hardening, performance optimisation, and backup systems
You Are a Great Fit If
- You have 2–3 years of full stack web development experience, ideally in a digital agency
- WordPress is second nature to you — themes, plugins, hooks, the database, and the ecosystem
- You can write PHP confidently — custom functions, WP REST API, and plugin logic
- You know React and Next.js well enough to build and maintain production-grade components and pages
- Your HTML and CSS are clean without a framework — you don't need a page builder to lay out a page
- You understand JavaScript beyond jQuery — ES6+, async/await, fetch, and DOM APIs
- You have worked with at least one page builder deeply — Elementor, Bricks, or Breakdance
- You can consume a REST or GraphQL API on the frontend without help
- You understand hosting, DNS, SSL, and deployment well enough to set up and troubleshoot independently
- You use AI tools in your workflow already or are actively willing to learn
- You work well remotely, manage your own time, and communicate clearly on status and blockers
Nice to Have
- Experience with Webflow or Framer as additional no-code/low-code build tools
- Familiarity with headless CMS platforms — Craft CMS, Contentful, Sanity, or similar
- Exposure to GraphQL schema design or API-first CMS setups
- Experience with n8n, Zapier, or workflow automation tools
- Basic understanding of technical SEO — schema markup, meta, sitemaps, redirects
- Exposure to Docker, VPS management, or server-side Linux configuration
- Git-based deployment workflows and version control best practices
