Job Summary:

The Placement Cell Coordinator will support the implementation and coordination of placement-related activities within APD’s Livelihood Programs. The role focuses on facilitating livelihood and employment opportunities for skilled candidates approaching APD for placement support, while ensuring effective employer engagement, candidate coordination, retention follow-up, career counselling, and employability support.

The coordinator will work closely with employers, candidates, internal teams, Government and Non-Government organizations, and relevant stakeholders to strengthen inclusive employment opportunities and sustainable livelihood outcomes for Persons with Disabilities. The role will also support work readiness training, facilitation of linkages to relevant social security schemes and entitlements wherever applicable, and networking with relevant stakeholders for livelihood and policy-related linkages promoting disability inclusion.

The role is coordination and implementation-oriented, with responsibility for maintaining placement data, supporting employer engagement activities, and ensuring timely follow-up and reporting under the guidance of the Manager – Placements.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate placements for skilled candidates approaching APD for employment and livelihood support.

Coordinate interviews, assessments, onboarding processes, and employer interactions for candidates across centres.

Assess candidate profiles, strengths, interests, skills, and accessibility requirements to map suitable livelihood and employment opportunities.

Maintain updated placement records, candidate databases, employer trackers, retention records, and placement-related documentation.

Identify and coordinate with employers, corporates, and hiring partners for inclusive employment opportunities.

Support employer engagement activities, sensitization sessions, placement drives, review meetings, and outreach initiatives.

Conduct regular follow-up and retention calls with placed candidates and employers to support sustainable placement outcomes.

Coordinate with internal teams including training, mobilization, partnerships, and centre teams for placement planning and candidate readiness.

Conduct employability support sessions including interview preparation, workplace readiness, communication skills, professional behaviour guidance, and career counselling.

Facilitate linkages to relevant Government and Non-Government welfare schemes, social security schemes, entitlements, and support services wherever applicable.

Support candidates with documentation, application processes, and coordination related to schemes and entitlements.

Network and coordinate with Government departments, non-government organizations, employers, and relevant stakeholders for placement, livelihood, and policy-related linkages supporting disability inclusion.

Prepare reports, data summaries, presentations, placement updates, and employer engagement documentation, social security p linkages for internal and external reporting purposes.

Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders and ensure timely follow-up and communication.

Accountability:

Report to the Manager – Placements on placement activities, employer engagement, retention follow-ups, linkages to social security schemes and operational progress.

Ensure proper documentation, data accuracy, timely follow-ups, and maintenance of placement and employer records.

Contribute towards placement, retention, and employer engagement targets through effective coordination and stakeholder management.

Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with APD’s policies on inclusion, safeguarding, and professional conduct.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Resources, Psychology, Management, or related fields.

4 – 6 years of experience in placements, livelihood programs, skilling initiatives, HR coordination, or program implementation, preferably in the development or NGO sector.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Kannada.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email communication, and online meeting platforms.

Preferred Qualifications (if any):

Experience working with Persons with Disabilities or within inclusive development programs.

Exposure to employer engagement, placement coordination, career counseling, or livelihood initiatives.

Experience working in cross-functional and community-based program environments.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong coordination, communication, and follow-up skills.

Ability to build and maintain professional employer and stakeholder relationships.

Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.

Good documentation, reporting, and data management skills.

Sensitivity towards disability inclusion and rights-based approaches.

Ability to conduct presentations, candidate interactions, employer sensitization sessions, and work readiness activities confidently.

Ability to work independently under supervision and consistently meet timelines and deliverables.

Working Conditions:

Based at KH / Main Campus, Bengaluru, with travel to APD centers, employer locations, Government departments, and partner organizations as required.

May require flexible working hours for placement drives, employer meetings, events, candidate support activities, and outreach programs.
