GlobalFoundries is seeking an experienced, self-driven Engineer to support and lead Device Modeling QA and automation initiatives. This role is responsible for driving end-to-end model quality strategies across multiple PDKs, establishing and advancing OneGF QA standards, and enabling scalable infrastructure for high-quality, production-ready SPICE models across GlobalFoundries technologies.
The candidate will involve in the development and enhancement of automation frameworks and EDA tools supporting SPICE Model QA, including improving existing flows and building new solutions to streamline modeling and QA processes. The role requires strong expertise in Python-based automation, EDA tools, solid understanding of semiconductor device physics (MOSFETs and related devices), and familiarity with Perl and Shell scripting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and define SPICE Model QA strategy and roadmap across multiple technologies, ensuring alignment with OneGF standards and long-term scalability.
- Own end-to-end SPICE Model QA sign-off for complex PDKs, ensuring comprehensive coverage, accuracy, robustness, and consistency across devices, corners, and simulators.
- Architect and drive development of scalable QA automation frameworks and infrastructure to support high simulation volumes and complex datasets.
- Establish, standardize, and enforce best-in-class SPICE Model QA methodologies across modeling teams.
- Run different types of simulations on SPICE models such as DC/AC, transient, S-parameters, reliability analysis etc. on different types of active and passive devices.
- Lead multi-simulator enablement and validation across Spectre, HSPICE/PrimeSim, AFS, GoldenGate, and ADS, ensuring cross-tool consistency and production readiness.
- Strong understanding of PDK development lifecycle and CAD tools (Cadence Virtuoso, Calibre, StarRC)
- Drive deep root-cause analysis of complex model and simulation issues, including convergence failures, accuracy gaps, and model inconsistencies, and implement robust solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with EDA vendors, driving tool enhancements, influencing roadmap decisions, and ensuring timely resolution of critical issues.
- Collaborate closely with Modeling and PDK teams to ensure seamless model integration, validation, and high-quality PDK releases.
- Mentor and guide engineers, fostering technical excellence, best practices, and capability development within the team.
- Identify and deploy advanced methodologies (automation, AI/ML, new simulation techniques) to improve Model QA efficiency, coverage, and turnaround time.
- Provide expert-level technical support for critical customer/design engagements, including advanced debug and modeling issues.
- Prepare reports summarizing results or making technical recommendations.

- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.
Required Qualifications:
- B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/M.S in Electronics/Electrical Engineering and specialized in Microelectronics or semiconductor devices or related field.
- B.E/B.Tech + 4-6 years of experience or
- M.E/M.Tech/MS + 2-4 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with different cultures.
- Familiarity with RF would be a plus.
- Experience coaching and mentoring junior engineers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong planning & organizational skills.
