Job Title: Commis 2/3 – Pastry

Department: Pastry / Culinary

Reports to: Commis 1 / Demi Chef de Partie – Pastry

Job Summary:

The Commis 2 – Pastry assists senior pastry staff in preparing and producing a range of

bakery and dessert items. This is an entry-level role ideal for individuals looking to build a

career in pastry arts by gaining hands-on experience and learning fundamental pastry

techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with basic preparation tasks such as measuring, mixing, portioning, and

assembling pastry components.

Support the team in producing breads, cakes, cookies, tarts, mousses, and other

desserts.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section according to hygiene and

food safety standards (HACCP).

Assist with mise en place for service and daily operations.
Store ingredients and finished products correctly and safely.
Follow instructions from senior pastry chefs (Commis 1, DCDP, CDP).
Help with dishwashing and cleaning duties as required.
Practice correct handling of kitchen equipment and tools.

Skills & Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of baking and pastry techniques.
Diploma or coursework in Pastry/Culinary Arts (preferred but not mandatory).
Previous internship or 6–12 months of kitchen experience (advantageous).
Eagerness to learn and grow in a professional pastry environment.
Good hygiene, grooming, and organizational habits.
Ability to work in a team and follow instructions accurately.
