Role Summary
We are looking for a Full Stack Web Developer who is strong on both the Vue/Nuxt.js frontend and the PHP/MySQL/WordPress/ Laravel backend. You will work on headless CMS projects where Nuxt.js consumes content via GraphQL, as well as traditional WordPress builds and maintenance. You read existing codebases quickly, work independently, and deliver clean, maintainable output.
This is an agency role. You will work across multiple client accounts simultaneously, each with its own stack and pace. The ability to context-switch, pick up unfamiliar codebases, and deliver without constant guidance is essential.
What You Will Do
Vue.js & Nuxt.js Frontend
- Build and maintain Nuxt.js applications consuming headless CMS content via GraphQL or REST APIs
- Develop reusable Vue.js components with clean props, emits, and composables
- Implement SSR, SSG, and ISR rendering strategies in Nuxt.js as appropriate
- Manage routing, state (Pinia or Vuex), and API data fetching in Nuxt.js
- Convert Figma designs into responsive, pixel-accurate Vue/Nuxt components
- Optimise frontend performance — Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, and asset management
PHP & MySQL Backend
- Write custom PHP for backend logic, REST APIs, and server-side processing
- Design and query MySQL databases — schema design, indexing, and optimisation
- Build and maintain backend integrations with third-party services and APIs
- Handle authentication, session management, and secure data handling
WordPress Development
- Build and maintain WordPress websites — custom themes, child themes, and ACF-driven templates
- Develop custom plugins and extend existing ones using WordPress hooks and filters
- Configure and maintain page builder layouts using Elementor or Bricks
- Integrate WordPress as a headless CMS exposing content via WPGraphQL or REST API
- Perform routine maintenance — updates, security checks, backups, and performance reviews
HTML / CSS / JavaScript
- Write clean, semantic HTML and maintainable CSS from scratch when needed
- Build fully responsive layouts across all breakpoints and devices
- Write vanilla JavaScript and ES6+ for custom interactions and utility functions
Hosting & Infrastructure
- Manage deployments across cPanel, Kinsta, Digital Ocean, and OVH environments
- Configure domains, DNS, SSL certificates, and email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Set up and verify staging environments, deployment pipelines, and backup systems
- Apply security hardening — HTTP headers, file permissions, and vulnerability mitigation
AI & Productivity
- Use AI tools — Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar — actively in your daily workflow
- Apply AI-assisted development for code generation, debugging, and documentation
- Stay current with tools and techniques relevant to modern agency web development
You Are a Great Fit If
- You have 2–3 years of full stack web development experience, ideally in a digital agency
- You are confident with Vue.js — components, composables, reactivity, and the Options/Composition API
- You have built or maintained at least one Nuxt.js project in a production environment
- You understand Nuxt.js rendering modes — SSR, SSG, and hybrid — and when to use each
- You can consume a GraphQL or REST API and render data cleanly on the frontend
- You can write PHP confidently — custom logic, REST endpoints, database queries
- You are comfortable with MySQL — writing queries, understanding schema design, and basic optimisation
- WordPress is familiar to you — themes, plugins, hooks, and the WP ecosystem
- Your HTML and CSS are clean without relying on a builder for everything
- You can convert a Figma file to a working webpage accurately and independently
- You understand hosting, DNS, SSL, and deployment well enough to troubleshoot independently
- You use or are actively willing to use AI tools in your day-to-day workflow
- You work well remotely, manage your own time, and communicate clearly on status and blockers
Nice to Have
- Experience with Craft CMS or other headless CMS platforms as a content backend
- Familiarity with WPGraphQL for exposing WordPress content to a decoupled frontend
- Experience with React or Next.js as a parallel JS ecosystem
- Exposure to Webflow or other no-code/low-code build platforms
- Basic Python scripting for automation or server-side utilities
- Familiarity with n8n, Zapier, or workflow automation tools
- Understanding of technical SEO — schema markup, sitemaps, and redirects
- Git-based deployment workflows and version control best practices
- Exposure to Docker, Linux server management, or Traefik configuration
