Job Responsibilities :

Purpose of the Role - To execute all safety related policies at the Site, with the objective to identify, resolve/ mitigate or escalate key risks as per overall safety policies, regulations & standards

Key Responsibilities - List of responsibilities attached to the role are documented below. These responsibilities are representative and the role holder is also responsible for any other job assigned by the superior authorities from time to time. This section in not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all activities done by the role holder. It should capture only the key responsibilities of the role

Responsibilities -

Policies, Processes and Procedures -

- Follow established safety policies, processes, standard operating procedures and provide support in the interpretation and implementation of safety related policies to the line management

- Assist in the implementation of new initiatives/ projects as per the established policies to meet the future requirements of the site

- Participate in the first and third-party health and safety audit systems for their designated area/ plant, in collaboration with Lead Safety

- Participate in external industry bodies, trade association, global forums and keep self abreast with leading practices and trends in order to contribute towards continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures

Operations -

- Conduct and analyse safety observations at their designated area/ plant and suggest actions to modify behaviours

- Maintain log book, occurrence book and other shift related documentation to ensure adherence to safety compliances

- Carryout investigation of all safety related incidents at their designated area/ plant, conduct root cause analysis and identify action plans to avert such future incidents

- Participate in risk management programs such as control measures identification, incident investigation, etc. to manage key risks at their designated area/ plant

- Create MIS reports, safety updates, findings, and performance indices to the area/ plant management so as to ensure awareness towards health and safety

- Track the leading and lagging safety metrics for their designated area/ plant and drive suggested improvement initiatives

- Prepare training modules/ programs and organize safety awareness training to safety executive/ their designated site employees to enhance awareness/ capability pertaining to safety

- Conduct/ Review Nearmiss Analysis and propose actions to Line Management on focus area/improvement actions

Education Requirement :

Necessary: Bachelors in Engineering/ Science in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Instrumentation/ Chemistry

Experience Requirement :

Necessary: 2- 3 years in industry with roles in O&M, Support functions (Opern, E&M, C&I, HSE) in Hydrocarbon/ chemical operating facilities or projects, with working experience in process safety domain. Hands on experience in Risk assessment techniques.
