Full job description

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, including financial reporting, budgeting, payroll processing, and accounts payable/receivable management. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledgers, balance sheets, and income statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Perform month-end and year-end close procedures, reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and analyzing financial data to identify variances and discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations for management and external stakeholders, providing insights into company performance and financial health.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, customer billing, and collections, to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
Process payroll for employees, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and preparing payroll reports for review and approval.
Monitor cash flow and liquidity positions, forecasting cash needs, and managing banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers.
Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial plans, analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions to achieve financial goals and objectives.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, assisting in audits and providing support as needed.
Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, project management, and human resources, to provide financial guidance and support for business activities.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, with the ability to apply them in a practical business setting.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes as needed.
