Job Title: HR Executive

Founded in 2020, Modo has built a reputation for bringing best-in-class smart home and IoT products to system integrators, retailers, and end customers across the region. We are a lean, fast-moving team where ownership and initiative are valued over hierarchy.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Hiring

Draft and refine job descriptions in coordination with department heads and founders.
Post openings on Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed, Bayt, and other relevant portals across India and the UAE.
Screen applications, shortlist candidates, and conduct first-round screening interviews focused on communication, motivation, and cultural fit.
Schedule and coordinate subsequent interview rounds with founders and hiring managers.
Conduct reference checks, prepare offer letters, and manage candidate communication through to onboarding.

Payroll Coordination

Maintain accurate attendance, leave, and reimbursement records for employees in both offices.
Prepare monthly payroll input sheets (variable pay, commissions, deductions, reimbursements) and share with accounts teams in Bangalore and Dubai for processing and disbursement.
Coordinate with accountants on statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, TDS in India; WPS in UAE) and ensure timely filings.
Manage payroll-related employee queries and resolve discrepancies.

Onboarding & Offboarding

Manage end-to-end onboarding: documentation, system access, induction scheduling, and orientation.
Coordinate UAE visa, labour card, Emirates ID, and medical processes through our PRO services vendor for Dubai hires.
Handle exit formalities including clearance, full and final settlement coordination, and exit interviews.

SOP Development & Process Documentation

Coordinate between employees and the operations team to develop, document, and roll out Standard

Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all functions across both offices.

Interview employees to capture how work is actually done, structure that knowledge into clear SOPs with the operations team, and maintain a central repository.
Drive adoption of SOPs through training sessions and periodic reviews.

Staff Welfare & Engagement

Plan and execute employee engagement activities, birthday and work-anniversary recognition, festival celebrations, and offsites across both offices.
Manage health insurance renewals and claims coordination for India and UAE employees.
Act as the first point of contact for employee grievances — resolve routine matters and escalate significant issues to leadership.

HRMS & Reporting

Own the HRMS platform (Keka / Zoho People / equivalent) — data entry, configuration, employee self-service, and reporting.
Prepare monthly HR MIS reports for leadership: headcount, attrition, hiring pipeline, payroll summary.

Candidate Requirements

Must-Have

2–4 years of hands-on HR generalist experience, preferably in an SME or mid-sized company (not exclusively in a recruitment agency).
Strong written and spoken English — drafting offer letters, policies, communications.
Proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, data management).
Working knowledge of Indian payroll components, statutory deductions, and labour law basics.
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field. MBA-HR is a plus but not mandatory.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Comfort working independently and directly with senior leadership.

Nice-to-Have

Prior experience with UAE / GCC HR processes (MOHRE, WPS, labour cards, visa procedures).
Hands-on experience with HRMS platforms such as Keka, Zoho People, GreytHR, or RazorpayX Payroll.
Experience in a distribution, trading, retail, or consumer electronics business.
Experience developing SOPs or process documentation.
