We are looking for an experienced and responsible HCV Spare Parts Technical Sales Executive who has strong practical knowledge of heavy commercial vehicle spare parts and can combine technical parts knowledge, accurate parts identification, customer handling and sales ability.
JOB SUMMARY
The candidate will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, identifying the correct heavy commercial vehicle spare parts, verifying vehicle/application and part numbers, checking stock, preparing quotations, following up with customers and converting enquiries into sales.
This is not a generic sales position.
The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of HCV spare parts and should be able to identify parts based on:
- Vehicle brand/model
- Application
- Part number
- Physical part/sample
- Photograph
- Customer requirement
The candidate should also be comfortable using computer systems, inventory/ERP software and WhatsApp for customer communication.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES1. HCV Spare Parts Identification
- Identify heavy commercial vehicle spare parts accurately.
- Understand the application of different spare parts across Tata, Ashok Leyland, BharatBenz, Eicher, MAN, AMW and other HCV brands.
- Identify parts from physical samples, photographs, part numbers and customer descriptions.
- Understand vehicle model, engine/application and part compatibility.
- Verify the correct part before quotation and dispatch.
- Identify similar-looking parts and distinguish between different applications.
- Understand OEM, OE and aftermarket parts.
- Identify equivalent and alternative parts where applicable.
- Reduce wrong-part quotations and wrong-part dispatches.

- Convert enquiries and quotations into orders.

4. Part Number & Application Management
- Search parts using part numbers, vehicle models and applications.
- Verify OEM/OE/aftermarket part numbers.
- Cross-reference part numbers where applicable.
- Check compatibility before confirming an order.
- Identify related child products and complete repair requirements.
- Maintain accuracy in part-number and application information.
5. ERP / System / Computer Responsibilities
- Search products and stock using ERP/inventory software.
- Check real-time stock availability before confirming orders.
- Enter customer enquiries and order information correctly.
- Prepare quotations using the company's system.
- Maintain accurate customer and order records.
- Use Excel for basic data handling and reporting.
- Use WhatsApp Business and other digital communication tools professionally.
- Update CRM/system information and follow-up status.
6. Store & Inventory Coordination
- Coordinate with the store team for stock availability.
- Ensure correct part identification before picking.
- Verify part number and quantity before dispatch.
- Coordinate picking, packing and dispatch.
- Report stock discrepancies.
- Support physical stock verification when required.
- Follow proper SKU and bin/location practices.
- Help reduce wrong-part picking and dispatch.
- Identify slow-moving or dead-stock opportunities where applicable.
7. Sales Follow-Up
- Follow up on all pending quotations and enquiries.
- Maintain systematic customer follow-up.
- Track quotation status.
- Identify reasons for lost enquiries.
- Recover potential lost sales where possible.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline of enquiries and orders.
- Achieve monthly sales and gross-margin targets.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREDMinimum
2 years of relevant experience in heavy commercial vehicle spare parts, automobile spare parts, dealership parts department, aftermarket, workshop or related field.
Preferred
4–8 years of experience in HCV spare parts sales/technical parts handling.
Candidates with practical experience in the following brands will be preferred:
Tata | Ashok Leyland | BharatBenz | Eicher | MAN | AMW
Experience with multiple brands will be an advantage.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Preferred:
- Diploma in Automobile Engineering
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- ITI – Automobile / Mechanical
- Other relevant technical qualification
Candidates with strong practical HCV spare-parts experience may also be considered irrespective of formal technical qualification.
