Block Coordinator

Hans Livelihood Project - Jharkhand

BACKGROUND

The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.

Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

PROJECT

In Jharkhand, Horticulture and its allied sectors have emerged as one of the potential areas to accelerate the growth of the State economy and augment farmer's income. Nature has endowed Jharkhand with a wide range of agroclimatic conditions due to which there is huge potential for the cultivation of high-value horticulture crops. Khunti district has huge potential in terms of production and market also near to the Ranchi. Torpa & Karra Blocks of district Khunti are the selected blocks, where proposed livelihood interventions broadly address the economic security of people.

Qualification:

Graduate or 12 pass with a minimum 2 years of experience in community mobilization or allied area experience

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Block Coordinator having a reach livelihood projects experience to join our team and drive the Project grassroots work of HLP in Jharkhand and other locations while supporting the project.

Job Description:

Field visits for the proper execution of different plans and schemes at the field level as instructed by the project manager of subject matter specialist
Field visits for the inspection of field staff activities.
Support to the project staff in tasks related to advocacy, planning and programming, resource mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, and representation at the block level
Assist the participation in any local program such as Kisan Mela and exhibition
Assist all the activities of plant and input distribution at the block level
Resource and community mobilization for the various activities to be conducted at the field level.
To overview the plantation program of the horticulture crops at the respective blocks.
Well acquainted with the local dialect, area, and resources available at the block level.
Maintenance of all the documents, assets, and records at the block offices.
To liaison with the resource person for the field visit and training programs in the project.
Conflict management at the local block level (if any arise during project implementation) .
To liaise with the local line department for The Hans Foundation including government counterparts, donor community, financial institutions, and any other institutions.
