L2 Network Engineer – Fortune Data Centres

Location: Ludhiana, Punjab
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: 2–4 Years
Industry: Data Centre / IT Infrastructure / Managed Services

About Fortune Data Centres

Fortune Data Centres is a growing data centre and cloud infrastructure provider delivering enterprise-grade hosting, colocation, networking, and AI infrastructure services. We are looking for a skilled and proactive L2 Network Engineer to join our operations team and help maintain our mission-critical network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise and data centre network infrastructure.
Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network security appliances.
Handle L2/L3 troubleshooting for network incidents and service disruptions.
Perform network performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization.
Monitor network health using tools such as Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds, or similar monitoring platforms.
Configure and maintain VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, ACLs, and routing policies.
Support data centre operations including rack networking, cross-connects, and customer connectivity.
Work with ISPs and vendors to resolve connectivity and infrastructure issues.
Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
Participate in on-call support and incident response activities.
Assist with network upgrades, migrations, and implementation projects.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.
Hands-on experience with enterprise networking equipment.
Experience managing and troubleshooting firewalls.
Good understanding of network security best practices.
Knowledge of network monitoring and logging tools.
Experience in data centre networking environments preferred.
Ability to analyze packet captures using Wireshark.
Familiarity with Linux networking concepts is an advantage.

Preferred Experience

Experience with Cisco, Juniper, MikroTik, Fortinet, Sophos, Palo Alto, or similar technologies.
Experience working in a Data Centre, ISP, NOC, or Managed Service Provider environment.
Exposure to virtualization and cloud networking is desirable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, NSE, PCNSA, or equivalent will be preferred.
