Area Sales Manager – Medical Devices & Hospital Sales

Location: Delhi NCR
Employment Type: Full-time, field-based
Joining: Immediate
Industry: Medical Devices and Equipment
Experience: Prior medical device/equipment sales experience is mandatory

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced sales professional to generate and manage sales opportunities for medical devices and equipment across hospitals, diagnostic centres, clinics and other healthcare institutions in Delhi NCR.

The candidate must have previously worked in the medical device or medical equipment industry, preferably in areas such as radiology, dental, critical care, diagnostics, hospital infrastructure or related specialties.

This is a consultative field-sales role involving regular meetings with doctors, technicians, purchase teams, biomedical departments, hospital administrators and other decision-makers. The candidate will identify customer requirements, coordinate the pre-sales process, present suitable solutions and support commercial negotiations until closure.

Key Responsibilities

Visit hospitals, diagnostic centres, clinics and other healthcare institutions across Delhi NCR.
Meet doctors, anaesthetists, radiologists, dentists, technicians, biomedical engineers, purchase teams, administrators and other relevant hospital personnel.
Develop professional relationships with multiple clinical, technical, commercial and administrative stakeholders.
Identify customer needs, upcoming projects, equipment-replacement requirements and new purchase opportunities.
Understand the clinical and technical application of the required equipment before recommending suitable products.
Generate qualified enquiries and maintain an active opportunity pipeline.
Conduct product presentations and communicate the clinical, technical and commercial value of the company’s offerings.
Coordinate product demonstrations, technical discussions, site assessments and other pre-sales activities.
Work with internal product, technical and service teams to prepare an appropriate solution.
Gather the necessary technical, commercial and institutional information before requesting or submitting a quotation.
Prepare and share commercial proposals after completing the required pre-sales qualification.
Follow up with all stakeholders throughout the evaluation and purchase process.
Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, delivery schedules and other conditions within company guidelines.
Coordinate documentation, vendor registration and purchase-order requirements.
Monitor competitor products, pricing, market activity and hospital procurement developments.
Maintain accurate records of visits, enquiries, demonstrations, proposals and follow-ups.
Submit regular sales forecasts and opportunity updates to the Area Sales Manager.
Achieve assigned sales, revenue and territory-development targets.
Support post-order coordination to ensure smooth delivery, installation and customer handover.

Essential Candidate Requirements

Minimum 5-7 years of sales experience in medical devices or medical equipment.
Existing experience selling to hospitals, diagnostic centres, clinics or healthcare institutions in Delhi NCR.
Exposure to one or more specialties such as radiology, dental, critical care, diagnostics, operation theatre, ICU, surgical equipment or hospital infrastructure.
Understanding of institutional and consultative medical-equipment sales cycles.
Ability to identify requirements and manage the complete process from lead generation through pre-sales and commercial closure.
Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to understand and explain technical product information.
Proven ability to engage multiple hospital stakeholders during a sales opportunity.
Good follow-up, opportunity-management and reporting discipline.
Familiarity with the Delhi NCR healthcare market.
Willingness to travel extensively throughout Delhi NCR.
Graduate qualification in science, engineering, business or a related field is preferred.
Personal vehicle with a valid driving licence is preferred.
Immediate availability to join is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate:

Has active professional relationships within hospitals and diagnostic facilities in Delhi NCR.
Understands how purchase decisions are influenced by doctors, users, biomedical teams, purchase departments and management.
Can confidently conduct product presentations and coordinate demonstrations.
Is comfortable managing long and multi-stage sales cycles.
Can balance technical requirements, clinical expectations and commercial considerations.
Is self-driven, organised and capable of independently managing an assigned territory.
Has a demonstrable record of meeting sales targets in the medical-equipment industry.

Key Performance Indicators

Performance will be measured on:

Number and quality of hospital visits.
New accounts and stakeholder relationships developed.
Qualified requirements and enquiries generated.
Product presentations and demonstrations conducted.
Value and quality of the active sales pipeline.
Proposal-to-order conversion rate.
Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Accuracy of forecasts and timeliness of follow-ups.
New hospital and diagnostic-centre accounts opened.
Customer retention for repeat purchases.
Collection and commercial-documentation discipline.
