Head of E-commerce

Location: Mohali, Punjab
Experience: 7–10+ Years
Compensation: ₹2–3 Lakhs per Month

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced and commercially driven Head of E-commerce to take complete ownership of the online business and drive significant, scalable and profitable revenue growth for a premium, celebrity-led saree brand.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for e-commerce strategy, online revenue, sales growth, customer acquisition, conversion, digital merchandising, marketplaces, quick commerce, website performance and overall e-commerce profitability.

The ideal candidate must have a strong track record of scaling large e-commerce businesses and should have experience managing or contributing to a business generating ₹50 Crores+ in annual revenue, preferably in fashion, apparel, D2C, lifestyle or other consumer-facing categories.

Key Responsibilities

Take complete ownership of the brand's e-commerce business, online revenue and digital sales performance.
Develop and execute the overall e-commerce growth strategy in alignment with the brand's business objectives.
Drive online revenue, conversion rate, Average Order Value (AOV), customer acquisition and customer retention.
Manage and optimise the brand's website/storefront, preferably on Shopify or equivalent platforms.
Develop and execute online merchandising and product-placement strategies.
Lead the brand's presence across D2C, marketplaces and quick-commerce platforms.
Identify and develop opportunities across relevant quick-commerce platforms and emerging digital commerce channels.
Analyse sales data, customer behaviour, website performance and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
Own the online product launch, collection, promotional and commercial calendar.
Work closely with Performance Marketing, Social Media, Creative and Brand teams to maximise revenue from digital traffic and campaigns.
Monitor and optimise key e-commerce metrics including revenue, CAC, ROAS, conversion rate, AOV, repeat purchase rate, customer lifetime value and profitability.
Develop and implement customer acquisition, retention and repeat-purchase strategies.
Conduct regular competitor, category and market analysis to identify new opportunities.
Work closely with merchandising, inventory and supply-chain teams to ensure adequate availability of high-demand products.
Develop strategies to maximise sell-through and minimise inventory ageing.
Explore new marketplaces, digital channels, partnerships and commerce opportunities to expand the brand's reach.
Own the e-commerce P&L, revenue targets and overall profitability of the digital business.
Build and maintain detailed dashboards and regular business-performance reports for senior management.
Identify opportunities to improve the complete online customer journey, from discovery and consideration to purchase and repeat purchase.
Stay ahead of emerging e-commerce, quick-commerce, consumer and technology trends and implement relevant opportunities.

Mandatory Candidate Requirements

7–10+ years of relevant e-commerce experience, with significant experience in senior e-commerce/business roles.
Mandatory experience managing or contributing to a business generating ₹50 Crores+ in annual revenue.
Proven track record of scaling e-commerce revenue and delivering measurable business growth.
Strong hands-on understanding of D2C, marketplaces and quick-commerce.
Experience managing large-scale online sales operations and commercial targets.
Strong understanding of the Indian e-commerce and consumer market.
Strong experience with Shopify or comparable e-commerce platforms.
Strong understanding of customer acquisition, conversion optimisation, retention and online merchandising.
Strong commercial and analytical mindset with proven understanding of e-commerce P&L and profitability.
Ability to independently build and execute an e-commerce growth strategy.

Quick Commerce Experience

Experience in building and scaling business through quick-commerce platforms will be strongly preferred.

The candidate should understand:

Quick-commerce business models and unit economics
Platform partnerships and commercial negotiations
Product assortment and visibility
Inventory availability and fulfilment requirements
Promotional and platform-led campaigns
Sales and profitability optimisation
Emerging opportunities in India's quick-commerce ecosystem

Preferred Industry Background

Candidates with experience in fashion, sarees, ethnic wear, apparel, D2C, lifestyle, beauty, luxury or premium consumer brands will be strongly preferred.

Experience scaling a high-growth consumer brand from an established revenue base to significant scale will be a major advantage.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a high-calibre e-commerce business leader, not simply an e-commerce manager.

The ideal candidate should have a proven history of managing ₹50 Cr+ businesses, understand the complexities of scaling a large consumer-facing e-commerce operation and be capable of building the digital business from the ground up.

They should be highly commercial, data-driven and execution-focused, with the ability to turn brand visibility, celebrity influence and consumer demand into significant, sustainable and profitable online revenue.

Experience in building a premium fashion or lifestyle brand's digital business, along with exposure to quick commerce and large-scale marketplaces, will be a strong advantage.

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per month
