We are seeking an experienced Quality & Welding Inspector responsible for ensuring all fabrication, welding, piping, structural, and installation activities comply with project specifications, approved procedures, quality standards, and client requirements. The candidate will be involved in inspection, documentation, quality control, and coordination activities during project execution and commissioning stages.
Key Responsibilities1. Quality Inspection & Control
- Perform inspection of fabrication, erection, piping, structural, and equipment installation activities.
- Ensure all activities comply with approved drawings, codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Conduct stage-wise inspection and maintain inspection records.
- Monitor quality control activities at site and workshop.
- Verify material identification, traceability, and compliance with approved material specifications.
- Ensure implementation of approved Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
2. Welding Inspection
- Inspect welding activities as per approved WPS/PQR and welding standards.
- Verify welder qualifications and welding consumables before welding activities.
- Monitor fit-up, alignment, root gap, welding parameters, and welding quality.
- Conduct visual inspection of weld joints before, during, and after welding.
- Coordinate and witness NDT activities such as RT, UT, PT, MT, and PMI testing.
- Review welding repair procedures and monitor corrective actions.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, weld maps, punch lists, and quality records.
- Review mill test certificates (MTC), test reports, and material documentation.
- Maintain welding traceability and inspection records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports.
- Ensure all documentation is updated and submitted as per project requirements.
4. Client & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, and subcontractors during inspections.
- Attend inspection meetings and quality review discussions.
- Support client audits and project quality assessments.
- Coordinate with construction and engineering teams for quality-related issues.
5. Testing & Commissioning Support
- Witness hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, flushing, and leak testing activities.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning quality activities.
- Verify completion of punch points before handover.
6. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
- Identify non-conformities and raise NCRs where required.
- Monitor corrective and preventive actions for quality deviations.
- Ensure proper closure of NCRs and quality observations.
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all inspection activities are carried out safely as per HSE requirements.
- Follow permit-to-work systems and site safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international codes and standards.
Qualification
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, or related discipline.
Experience
- 3–10 years of experience in QA/QC and welding inspection in Oil & Gas, Semiconductor, Petrochemical, or Industrial Projects.
- Experience in piping, structural, and equipment inspection activities preferred.
Certifications Preferred
- CSWIP / AWS / ASNT certification preferred.
- NDT Level II certification in RT, UT, PT, or MT is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of international standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, and ISO.
Required Technical Skills
- Knowledge of welding processes such as GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
- Ability to read isometric drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and welding documents.
- Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records.
- Familiarity with NDT methods and inspection techniques.
- Strong understanding of material traceability and documentation control.

- Ability to work independently at project sites.
- Familiarity with client quality requirements and international project standards.
Employment Type
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
